Anakin & Padme........Luke & Leia

I am not sure if this topic belongs in this particular forum and if it does'nt please redirect. I was just curious, by watching the prequels do any of you see the same mannerisms(sp) of Anakin...Luke & Padme...Leia or vice versa?? I know everyone kept saying Ewan did an outstanding job trying to capture Alec Guniness portrayal of a younger Obi-Wan(which he did). I am just asking the way Natalie or Hayden carried themselves on screen, did they show any traits that would forshadow on their children in the next trilogy? The one thing I noticed that Anakin and Luke both were extremely cocky and wanted more out of being a jedi. I also noticed both Padme(or Queen Amidala) and Leia(as Princess) had the same inner strength and could fire a mean laser pistol.

Any Thoughts??

I don't think we should be looking at their personalities when you're comparing Alec Guiness to Ewan McGregor.

But, yes, I see lots of mannerisms shared by Anakin and Luke, not as many between Padme and Leia. Anakin and Luke both have a way of looking away when they are distressed and lowering their eyes. Padme is a much more subdued version of Leia. Whereas Leia often allowed raw emotion through, in Padme, you can make comparisons, only that she makes the same faces and expressions as Leia, only REALLY tone down.

Luke is not cocky like Anakin is. Leia is like Padme somewhat. But I think Luke is more like Padme and Leia is more like Anakin.

 

This is the way i see it...

Anakin and Luke look the same (even down to at the end of ROTJ Lukes' got mahogany hair, paralleling with Anakins' in ROTS)

Padme and Leia look the same.

Leia inherited Padmes' flare for politics, but her wit and arrogance come from her father.

Luke looks like Anakin, but he is more carefull than his father was, like Padme.

The force potential in both the twins comes from Anakin but.

I kind of like to think that Leia is more like her father, and Luke more like Padme, maybe thats what sparked something in Vader when he found Luke. He didn't recognise Leia because she was more like him, and he had been trying to distance his old life as Anakin Skywalker from his memory.

Thats my take on it anywho.

Anakin and Padme are the better pair IMO. Anakin's story is so much complex and though many believe that his story didn't get good until ROTS, they're wrong. Padme had the love vs. duty, plus Gunray vendetta and had a better wardrobe than Leia. Luke and Leia seem like the spitting images of their parents but have differnt less important problems than Anakin and Padme.

And isn't coicidental that Anakin was planning to offer all 3 absolute power.

 

Anakin did pull off some Luke-likeness.

If you look at the picture where he's just waking up from his nightmare, look at his face, I swear to god Its Lukes face![I know its really Hayden,but the resemblence is uncanny!]

Also the way his whines in AOTC reminds me of ANH Luke.

Padme and Leia look alot alike,its kinda crazy. But Anakin and Luke are definatly the similar bunch.

Anakin and Luke-- whining, impatient
Padme and Luke (as he matures)-- control of temper
Anakin and Leia-- very tempermental and impatient, and a bit cynical
Padme and Leia-- attracted to "bad boys", if a little prudish at first, but in the end way too easy to seduce
Padme and Leia and Luke-- persuasive, diplomatic, sensitive
Anakin and Leia and Luke-- passionate, obstinate, and reckless

Luke and Padme both had a way of looking around in a new place with curiosity, while Anakin and Leia would be in the background observing the people.

Leia and Padme both have a perpetual worried look on their faces... understandable, really.

Leia and Padme are also more bossy than Anakin and Luke... maybe that's just because they're women.

Anakin and Luke are both more tolerant of droids than the average human being, and have a tendency to fix things, and can carry on a conversation while they work.

And Luke and Padme run alike, while Leia runs like a Wookie.

Luke and Anakin are extremely protective of their women folk.

That's all I can think of for now.
