Ok to start this off let us agree that Anakin really died. If you don't accept this then it will be impossible to accept my theory.

Ok. Last night I was reading SbS and on page 547 it says, "Across from Jania,, Tahiri lay on a litter next to Anakin...the husk in which his body was encased."

Now granted it was 3:00am when this occured to me but what if Anakin was placed in one of those clonning husks like the voxin were. At first this doesn't seem possible, but when you look at the trouble of having people fight to get his body and the author distinctly saying that it was in a husk. There has to be something hidden. Also Vergere was helpful to the jedi most of the book at the end so it is possible that she could have taken the body and put it into a cloning husk.

Well that's my theory. Let the bashing begin. And if someone else had come up with this theory please forgive me because it has been a while since I've been on here.

No bashing here. The husk has to serve some purpose, otherwise it is pointless to include it in the narrative. As to what purpose we can only guess.

Why would they do that though?

There's probably a reason for that husk thing. Whop knows, maybe they were trying to clone him. All they need was a little sample and they had plenty of time to get it. Maybe they will clone him, and this will give him the oppurtunity to pull a Palpy and get into a new body. He was so connected to the force at the end that he might have been able to enter a new body when there was one. I hope they don't though, casue it would be better if he stayed dead.

gald someone agrees with me here. My theory is that the husk is some kind of Vong cloning vat or some kind of healing husk.

I hope you are right. I feel tired and betrayed by this constant sick drifting into darkness. If he is not brought back, I'm done with NJO.

I think the husk serves the same purpose as a body bag.

Darth if it was a Vong body bag wouldnt it seem likely that the other young jedi would have taken him out of it? I cant see Jania, who towards the end of SbS hated almost anything Vong, leaving Anakin encased in a Vong body bag.

I don't know maybe I'm grasping at straws here but I think the greatest argument to Anakin not being completely dead is the fact that Del Rey spent two books building up the character. They would not do that to just kill him off. They didnt give Chewie two books to build him up before they killed him off. Somehow I think that Anakin will come back.

I agree that Anakin'll be back, for more reasons than just the two books and the husk. Literary things that just don't add up with most epic stories and so on. Ah, well, one must have patience...I'm sure we'll find out for sure as the series progresses, besides his body being cremated in DJ.

you just got defeated by your own reasoning, Kil. it was Vong period. by your reasoning Jaina would have removed him from it no matter what the purpose was, and indeed, because she was ignorant of the purpose as much as we are, ta dn Jaina did not remove him, that proves she wouldn't do it. Get that? If it was likely Jaina would take him out, why didn't she?

    Ummm...why? I've never understood this mentality. It's just a story. ?[face_plain]
