PT Anakin Skywalker was originally going to appear in Star Wars: The Force Awakens

I still haven't seen TFA but I've found an article, and according to the artbook Art of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, introducing all the concept arts for Episode VII, there are artwork suggesting that Anakin Skywalker would have appeared in TFA.

Damn. The concept art is far more fascinating than the actual movie!

 

The art looks good, but I don't really like the idea of Anakin returning as a ghost. I don't see the point of it.
Things are good the way they are portrayed in TFA.

 

I've read somewhere that the artist who made it did it simply because he himself liked the idea of Anakin returing in such a form. The writers did not instructed him to make the art. So the statement that he was originally going to appear in TFA wouldn't be correct.

On top of that. Why would a ghost have robotic features. Anakin was shown as a ghost in the OT without them.

 

This is typical of almost all concept art.

 

I liked the ROTS film more though...

 

I'm glad he didn't, simply for the reason that his acting is atrocious.

I'd anticipate seeing Anakin's ghost in the future, possibly even in Episode VIII. When I first read about Anakin's ghost switching to Vader, my mind went to the idea of Anakin reminding Luke (who obviously didn't have a big enough role to justify Anakin's return in any form anyway) how a even a good person can go bad.

That's where I think the concept artist was leaning.

 

I think the same maybe this art concept is to prevent luke or kylo or Rey for something or is just an hallucination or a ghost message as I said to prevent something.
I think showing this wouldn't have been correct for the simple reason that Anakin chose stay in the light side at the end of ep6 thus this idea is against this fact that is canon (even when we see his force ghost) so I still believing that it's impossible showing anakin with a vader ghost or two ghosts but not as an ilusion or hallucination

I hate all the clickbait articles that are worded like this thread title. He was never going to be in the film. It was just an idea thrown by one of the concept artists who also worked on the prequels, and I can only assume his suggestion fell on def earns, considering the talent responsible for writing the story.

 

Considering Kylo's obsession with Vader I think it's not too out of a left field if Anakin's ghost does appear in VIII or IX.

 

In McCaig's concept, Anakin would presumably be trying to scare his descendants/successors straight like he does in Star Wars: Legacy.

 

That would have been cool to see, but maybe next film they'll ease into it.

 

It's happening. I can't see it not happening now after seeing TFA & now seeing this. Whether it's a Force Ghost, or something else, it's happening. And I honestly think if Hayden Christensen was given the chance to be directed by someone else, his performance would be a lot better than in the Prequels.

 

If Hayden appears in Episode 8 I would be fine with it. I actually liked him as Anakin.

 

Hell yeah! Give me the Chosen One in 8 please!

 

I need to see Force Ghost!Anakin in the upcoming movie(s) for...personal reasons.

Just kidding, but I would love to see him make an appearance interacting with some of the other characters for instance. I NEED THIS.

 

I'm not liking this idea with the "evil force ghost" in the ST movies. That's feels way too much EU. But as long as it stays in the comics, EU books and such I'm fine.
