    In theory, Vergere did already.

It is also possible Anakin Solo did as well, though I do not believe that he did... yet.

This whole topic of disappearing Jedi Knights and Masters is going to start a HUGE debate after Episode III comes out. But in the end it may just fall to what you personally believe is the truth.

Let's review facts. Qui-Gon dies in Episode I, right? But, his body does not disappear, and he receives a traditional Jedi funeral. This seems to have been a common practice. And then, in Episode II, Yoda seems to hear the voice of Qui-Gon telling Anakin not to slaughter the Tuskens.

But Qui-Gon died before Episode III, and Yoda was puzzled when he heard Qui-Gon's voice. So, the popular opinion is that Yoda teaches Obi-Wan and a select few others to retain their spirit in the physical world for a while after their death, and their body just...fades.

We learn that Nejaa Halcyon's body fades when he dies. This is just after the Clone Wars, so possibly while the events of Episode III are taking place. Perhaps he learned the technique? Or maybe it was the will of the Force?

Obi-Wan and Yoda die, and their bodies fade. Anakin Skywalker's body fades inside the Darth Vader suit. So, it seems that only a few bodies fade.

But then we see others, who would not have had the opportunity to learn this technique, who fade as well. These include Daeshara'cor and Vergere. So it could be argued that it most definitely is the will of the Force that allows bodies to fade.

I think that Anakin Solo could come back, but it seems unlikely, because there has been no indication so far. It'd be more sensible to have that then a fully alive and well Anakin returning.

And then, in Episode II, Yoda seems to hear the voice of Qui-Gon telling Anakin not to slaughter the Tuskens.

I always assumed that was just a flashback of Anakiness, or something like that. Interesting.

And I'm also assuming that the spirit Jacen saw in his apartment was Vergere? I always thought it was, but thinking of it now, it was never clearly defined IIRC.

I hope we see some come back. That would be really cool.

The AOTC book clearly states it was not.

Was the fading death in DTII a miss by the big guys at Lucas. Because every since EPII came closer thier are watching closely on stuff like fading jedi and blow ghost.

[face_laugh] Fading jedi and blow glowing ghost sound wierd but they are cool.

I still want to know why Morgan Katarn came back as a blue ghost when he wasn't even a Jedi.

    Unclear, that one is.
    Some say it was Anakin.
Some say it was Vergere projecing Anakin to Jacen.
Some say it was Jacen hallucintaing.

We've had this argument on the Fans of Anakin Solo thread a couple of times, but I don't feel that it's Anakin. His language is not at all consistent with how Anakin speaks in any other book. He also appears younger than he was when he fell on the worldship. He defers to Jacen & tells Jacen that he was right.

From all this, I conclude that the image of Anakin portrayed in Traitor was Jacen's perception of him. Jacen may have been hallucinating or it may have been Vergere once again manipulating him, but it wasn't Anakin's ghost.

    Anakin was mine, too.

His body didn't fade like the others (as far as we know).
Yet he reached into the Force in his final battle. It is described as him flowing into the Force and the Force flowing through him. Then he was gone.

The other Jedi who faded when they died could return, but only in specter form. Perhaps with Anakin reaching into the Force more fully that others in the past had, causing all of the cells in his body to burst forth with Force energy he was able to reach past this boundary that the other Jedi encountered with returning in physical form. Maybe he could actually return in living flesh.

    Just a thought. [face_hopeful]

I don't think that any other characters will "return" because I think Vergere was a special thing with Jacen alone and no other Jedi will be able to do it. Though I would like to see Anakin return and help Jacen or Jaina in a big importnat situation like Obi-wan with Luke on the first Death Star.
