Anakin's cut...

Forgive me if this sounds like a dumb question, but I was watching The Phantom Menace the other day and wondered how did Anakin get the cut or scrape on his arm. This occurs when Qui-Gon is applying some cotton on the wound and then tells Obi-Wan to do a Midiclorian check on Anakin¡¦s blood.

I watched the movie a few times, but I did not see how Anakin gets that scrape on his arm.

It's not explained in the film, but I believe the novelisation gives some insight on this. I've not read it, however

 

It tells in the novel that he got several cuts and scrapes from fixing his podracer.

 

Its just for working around with stuff.

Not every little detail has to be seen in the film.

Did you also have trouble figuring out how characters changed clothes? We didn't see that happen on screen either.

Okay guys, let's not get silly here. I realize not everything has to be explained in the movie, but I was just asking. Pardon me for be curious.....

Besides this scene was quite significant because it introduces midiclorians.

They should at least show the stormtroopers going to the toilet, as I worry about how they manage to do it, especially if the poor fellows are in a hurry.

 

I think we should be more concerned with how Darth Vader shaves and uses the rest room.

Anyway, the way that he got the cut isn't really important, I think anyone can figure out that it must have happened from working in the shop or podracing or something. The fact that he gets it "cleaned" (aka the midi-test) is what's shown on film ... and therefore is more important. He's a 9 year old kid ... pretty much all 9 year old males have at least one cut at a time.
