One thing that is never shown is Anakin's reaction to Qui-Gon's death. Who told him? How would he take it? What d'you guys think?

I think that Anakin would land sumwhere on the battlefield as he probably wont be able to fly to the hanger, he walks to Naboo, people are carrying Qui-Gon's body, Anakin asks what happened, Obi-Wan tells him, Anakin's in tears, Obi-Wan comforts him, their friendship begins,
    What do you think happened?

Well there was a little itty bit of that at the funeral scene in which Anakin looks teary and asks what will happen to him now. My guess is that the reaction would be the same in a different scene, and there was no point in making two completely seperate ideas. Such a scene would just be unnecesarry, in my opinion.

No, I bet he would be a lot more emotional since it would be the first time he heard it (possibly even sob & scream "Noooooo...").

Was their a deleted scene where this happens? I wouldn't know because I only have the video of TPM. I'm still trying to get the DVD.

No there is not any deleted scene where Anakin learns of Qui-Gons death but I would like to see how he would react to it.

Well...he'd be upset. Anakin is a very empathetic little boy, but at the same time, he only knew Qui Gon for a short while, so it's not going to be "OMGOSH MY LIFE IS OVER" moment, either. I imagine he cried a bit and mourned deeply, but nothing extravagant. I think really all we needed to see is the part at the funeral pyre - the teary eyed look he gives Obi Wan tells us plenty that he's upset and a bit afraid/uncertain of what's to come.

i'd liek to see everyone's reaction to Qui Gonn's death. I mean how would Padme' and Panaka find out. They are celebrating and Obi Wan finds them.
    "Where's Qui Gonn?"
Obi Wan looks at the lightsaber and looks down.

actually it hink padme would have told Anikan as or right after he lands wherever.

I wonder at the psychological effect on Anakin of seeing the body of someone he knew being burned. I can't imagine a more traumatic sight for a child to look at. I could well imagine the impact this would have on his mental well-being as he's growing up.

    "Wheres Qui-Gon?"
"I'm sorry Anakin but Qui-Gon was killed..."
"Damn. I still get a laser-sword though right?"

I agree, another scene would have just be redundent. As for how everyone else reacted that doesn't matter, Qui Gon wasn't as important to their life from that point on, as it was to Obi Wan and Anakin.

INT. Outside Palace. Padme walks out.

PADME: We've captured the Viceroy. The Battle is won.
[Crowds cheer. Obi-Wan walks in. He looks saddnened]

    Padme: Where's Qui-Gon Jinn?

    Obi-Wan: I'm afraid he didn't make it.

Padme:[looks down] I'm sorry. It was that black robed man wasn't it?

    Obi-Wan: He won't be a problem anymore.

    Padme: Where is his body?

    Obi-Wan: In the power room.

Padme:[to guards] Go and collect his body.

    Obi-Wan: Where's Anakin?

[Anakin lands and jumps out excited]

Anakin:[jumps out] I did it. I took down a ship. I gotta tell Qui-Gon. Where is he?

Obi-Wan: I'm afraid Qui-Gon was killed in battle Anakin.

Anakin: What? No. No one could kill Qui-Gon.

Obi-Wan: I wish that were true. I'm sorry Anakin.

Anakin:[teared up] No. That's not true. He's alright. Please let him be alright!!!

    Padme: Anakin.

[Padme hugs Anakin as he tears up. Obi-Wan looks sad]

Waddya think? And if you think Anakin wouldn't cry. Well when your nine you cry when you see an animal die in a documentary.

In Star Wars Episode I Journal: Anakin Skywalker, it says after Anakin lands and is celebrating with the other pilots, a man comes and tells them that the Jedi Knights defeated the warrior, but the older one was killed. Anakin felt pain and it says he felt something happen when he was flying (Qui-Gon's death).

I realy wish that there was a scene showing his reaction, it could have had the same emotiona as when he left his mother. Only instead of Anakin and his mother it could have been Anakin and Obi-Wan. That could have shown Anakin and Obi-Wan's relationship growing stronger. Or at least have him sobbing during the funeral or something. :p

I don't think an extra scene is necessary, but I do have mixed feelings about Anakin's scene at the funeral.

I think I looked more hurt and emotional when I watched the funeral than Anakin did. Anakin was a slave on Tatooine. Qui-Gon comes into his life and not only frees him, but tells Anakin that he is going to make his dreams come true.
Then he looks at Obi and says "What's gonna happen to me now?". To me it just seems like that question is a little inappropriate at that time, a little selfish. Yeah, he's definitely got a right to worry about his own future but I expected him to be more upset about Qui-Gon's death.

I think it's been at least a couple of days after Qui-Gon's death. Both the council and Palpatine arrived, they wouldn't make it to another planet in 1 day. He's grieved and is now kinda over it.

To me it just seems like that question is a little inappropriate at that time, a little selfish.

Let's not forget the reason Qui Gon took him was because he felt Anakin was the Chosen One and had to be trained.

Qui Gon didn't actually give Anakin a second thought when he met him first, until Jar Jar got in trouble. Even after that it was Anakin who was following them around and asked whether they have shelter and told them to come to his house.

Anakin may have felt sad (and he showed it in the funeral scene: see facial expression), but it was important to know what will happen to him. Qui Gon believed in him, that was it. Luckily Obi Wan wanted to keep his word.

    *Anakin shrugs his shoulders*

"Ehh, I probably would have just killed him someday."

Well remember this is the same person who talks entirely about himself at his own mother's funeral. Perhaps this question he asks in TPM is supposed to fall in line with the character who does turn out to be selfish.

Well, remember Anakin is a ten year old boy who left the only home he had ever known and his mother, and a life of slavery. Naturally, he's going to be afraid of what will happen to him.

I'm sure he cried when told about Qui-Gon. He probably didn't grieve nearly as much as Obi-Wan, but I'm sure he was upset.
