Anakin's Slave Chip, Did he ever get rid of it?

Something struck me while watching Episode 1 again last night. Anakin has a chip implanted in his body while he is a slave, he says, "If you try to run away, they BLOW YOU UP!" Do you think he ever found the chip and removed it or was it still intact when he died in ROTJ?

That would make for an interesting story...the Rebel mission to recover the controls to Anakin's slave chip so they could destroy Vader with it.

 

Qui-Gon Jinn had the chip removed after Anakin won the pod race.

No, he just had it to where it wouldn't blow up when Anakin left.

 

It was deactivated, but never removed AFAIK.

 

What would be the point of it exploding? You don't get your slave back...


Also, he does have it...Watto gives him several shocks throughout the movies...watch carefully.

Didn't the novel say it was deactivated, to be removed surgically at a later date?

 

LOL perhaps obi wan removed it during the surgery on mustafar.

 

Qui-Gon gave the detonator to Palpatine just incase Anakin acted up. Unfortunaly Palpatine forgot about it.

 

It really dosen't matter if he had surgery or not the chip probably would have burned with the rest of Anakin's body.

 

I'm pretty sure it was taken out when Anakin got to Coruscant.
But it was deactivated when,Anakin was freed.

 

Maybe it's like one of those RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) tags in shops, where once an item has been bought, the RFID tag for that item is allowed to leave the shop. If an item was taken away without permission, the RFID tag for that item is not allowed to leave the shop (sounding an alarm, or in Anakin case, fatally injured him).



As for Anakin's tag being removed or not.

I don't recall an explanation in the movie, but if Anakin choosed to do so, he probably can remove it during his training in the Jedi Order. He probably can removed it himself, since he is very technically inclined.


As for Palpatine. Well... If there's still a tag in Anakin, Palpatine might choosed to let it reside in Anakin. For future possibilities...

If there's one, why didn't Palpatine used it in Episode VI? Well, there are already plenty of unused options in ALL six movies.
