Who's that arm-signaling in the eaves?
It's two prisoners and they want to leave
Wrenches and widgets and swingin' hands
Who's your daddy? Yes I am

    Fast Cass came to play
Now you can't run fast enough
    You'd best stay away
When the pushers come to shove

Oh you got me in a spasm
And I want to zap you down
    Now you prisoners know

I'm thinking Andor makes some friends. But I really want Cinta's story to progress. She's hardcore.

So the giant curling tongs were to keep the creature calm and then it would breathe in the Force and it's tears of joy turned into kyber crystals? And that was the bit that Filoni insisted they add in for continuity? Give me strength.

    Ha!

People were betting that Vel is Luthen's daughter. Guess again. She's Mon Mothma's cousin. Now that was a brilliant mini plot twist.

You heard it here first: Kino will sacrifice himself so that Andor and Melshi escape and make it out alive

I'm 24 minutes into the episode. I gotta say that this series overall reminds me of V for Vendetta and interestingly, the computer's autocorrect wanted to correct that to Vedanta. Very nice. Well, I mean the graphic novel, not the movie. Lots of desolation, and I wouldn't say it's anarchism vs. totalitarianism like that story. Rather, it's hopelessness vs. totalitarianism, and that's interesting, too. Mon, Vel, Bix, et al are looking for a reason to hope. Cassian will get there. I just look forward to him getting out.

Anyhow, I do like Anton Lesser's character. This ISB comes off as more realistic than than in the old EU. Not that I disliked that one. They just didn't focus on it enough after the 1990s. It's like, yeah, the lady wanted to Emperor and she competed with Sate Prestage. But they should have expanded upon that story. Lesser's character is open to anyone who can find the information, and that's a clever spymaster. He can be ruthless as all heck. I admit that's one reason as to why people get fascinated with the NSA and the CIA. We fear them, but we also wish we could see into all devices. That's a very human thing, and it's not a good impulse. We should just be satisfied with what we got and not over-analyze.

All of this series is about humanization vs. de-humanization. The Empire of the old EU was NonHuMan. Here, it's similar to that, but they're putting more emphasis on how the Empire dehumanizes people than the EU did, and both portrayed it quite well. The old EU was very 1990s in style, even into the 2000s and 2010s. This Disney EU is doing something similar, but I like the R1 style the best. It works here because we see that Mon had to learn more of Sidious Palpatine's methods in order to subtly combat him.

I can't say I'm surprised that Mon and Vel met. And I hope it doesn't seem like I like all the female characters and ignore Cassian. I just want him to get out of jail. He reminds me of many guys I knew in middle and high school who were bullied, and some went on to better things. I wish we could get Season 2 sooner. Mon and Cassian have many notes to share about Imperial oppression.

Ah yes, you are in Europe. You guys changed time a couple of weeks ago. We are doing the Daylight Savings Time thing this Sunday. I just finished the episode.

Another solid episode. This show doesn't impress me, but I don't have a lot of negative things to say. It's lacking something though for me. I watch it pleasantly and that's just about it

Prisoner recycling sounds worse than Carousel. Cassian needs to run for Sanctuary.

No doubt this one was a bridge episode (yes, you see what I did there) for this particular arc, but something tells me everything is going to go lightspeed for the final three episodes of the season. The highlights for me here were once again Mon Mothma's scenes. The reveal of her relationship to Vel added even more personal texture.

And uhhhh Syril finding Dedra was terrifically awkward. She looked about ready to castrate him.

That was an intense episode. Best so far. Big bump up in villain cred for Dedra.

I have absolutely no idea where they’re going with Syril but I’m utterly fascinated to find out. I wouldn’t be surprised if next week we find out he’s hung up Dedra posters all over his room. :p

Syril is a weird guy. I don't really like how his mom treats him in some ways, but on the other hand, I can't say I blame her. He is kind of a screw-up. He's stalking people now. Ew.

I feel bad for Ulaf. Very sympathetic guy. I like how Cassian and Andy Serkis' character help. Serkis' character came off as a jackass in the last episode, but they're showing more of his human side now. So happy that one of my favorite actors actually is getting to do something in Star Wars.

    ...

Well, now I've finished the episode. Very riveting. The slow pace helps with the suspense.

Dedra and Syril are a perfect match.
Poor Bix, they put her through the ringer.
    R.I.P. Ulaf.
Plot thickens regarding Vel, no way she flips on Cassian when they eventually meet again.

Can’t wait for next weeks prison break. Hoping for a Natural Born Killers type escape.

I went into this episode thinking that this would be the "jailbreak episode," and it obviously wasn't. There are SO MANY moving pieces that are moving far along, and I'm really glad the story is chugging right alongside Cassian's incarceration. So will the Rebel pilot involved with Kreegyr's group that was interrogated, be proof that Saw was right not to team up with him at Luthen's urging?
