Partially some new ideas, partially because there's some people I can't seem to cast when playing this game in my head...

    [face_mischief]

Grand Admiral Thrawn: Brian Cox - because he can do the morally-ambiguous intellectual really well (Manhunter) and he has the physicality which Thrawn needs - and, more importantly, like Ian McDiarmid, he comes from Dundee!

Grand Admiral Pellaeon: Brian Cox - same reasons as above!

    Ben Skywalker: Thomas Sangster

Jaya Solo: I'm torn between Natalie Portman, Keira Knightley, and Kate Beckinsale...

    Tahiri: bizarrely, Britney Spears!

NJO Mara Jade: no damn idea...

    Kyp: um, Keanau Reeves?

    Vergere: Cher

    Jacen Solo: Woody Allen

Okay, I love Keanu, but no. I'd never do that to Kyp.

    Mine list so far:

Jaina Solo: Shiri Appleby (younger Jaina); Kate Beckinsale (older Jaina). If you've seen my comparison pic, Kate looks exactly like Jaina on the Japanese "Remnant" cover. It's weird!

    Kyp Durron: Shane Brolly

    Jag Fel: Josh Hartnett

Mara Jade: Gillian Anderson (or maybe Famke Janssen)

Tahiri: someone young and sort of annoying

Jacen: leaning towards Sean Biggerstaff, for reasons I don't know

    Wes Janson: Craig Parker

    Tenel Ka: no clue whatsoever

    Isolder: Fabio [face_laugh]

    Ta'a Chume: Frances Fisher

    Kardde: Pierce Brosnan

I can see where you're coming from with this, but I must say that I think Woody would be far more convincing as Tsavong Lah.

Mara Jade: I think Famke Jannsen could play her half way between Xenia (Goldeneye) and Jean (X2)

Kyp: Yes we must toture Kyp with Keanu. :) BTW I hate Kyp.

I can't think of any more now. But please don't even say Spears.

The only person who should play Mara is Shannon Baksa McRandle, No one else. She has already been cast in the part so why change it. A little prosthetic make-up would be more than adequite to make her look older.

As far as Jaina goes, none of the above women mentioned would work because they are all too tall by a great deal. Remember, Jaina is only four-foot ten inches tall; she?s tiny. Kiera Knightily is five-foot seven inches, and Natalie Portman is five-foot three inches tall. Based upon comparisons with Hugh Jackman (six-foot two), Kate Beckensale is at least five-foot seven if not taller. As far as Tahiri goes, I would actually say it should be one of the Olsen twins, which ever is the blonde, or possibly Hilary Duff. These girls are all close to the right age and appearance and their eye color is close enough that with colored contacts, they would be perfect matches. I believe Ms Duff has green eyes already, but don?t quote me on that.

Ya know its funny. When ever someone asks me who I think could play so and so I always go with acting ability before I go with pure looks. Like with Jaina I would go with acting ability instead of the whole height thing (no offense to those who do look at the height thing.

For the NJO Mara I like Julianne Moore. A wonderful actress who has a tough side to her.

For Jaina Solo I would have to go with Shiri Appleby or perhaps Jessica Alba. She seems to have that tough girl thing down.

For Anakin Solo I would go with Gregory Smith. He is a decent actor and has a good bit of angst going on in him.

For his older Brother I sometimes thought Ryan Merriman would work. He is more of an unknown, but he has some acting chops to him. Drew Fuller is another one who I think could pull it off.

Jag Fel could be played by Ian Somerhalder. He can brood pretty well and seems to do well on the big or little screen.

Tahiri could be played by Emily Vancamp. A good tv actress. or maybe Erika Christensen

Kyp always seemed like a great role for Keanu, but I have also agreed to the Shane Brolly talk.

Danni always seemed like Kate Bosworth to me.

Just to toss her in there Callista could be played by Maria Bello.

Tenel Ka could be masterfully played by Scarlett Johansson. I do love her in lost in translation.

Shada could be played by Carrie-Anne Moss

And that is that for now. :D

Strange that nobody's ever come up with possible actors for the characters in the GoDV series :p

Julianne Moore would indeed be an excellent Mara.

I know he's pigeon-holed as a comedian, but I'm still tempted by John Cleese as C'baoth

    Alan Rickman as Fyor Rodan

    Cheers, Tam :)

I think Cleese's just got the right build, overall appearance and manner to pull it off. It's his performance in Bond that made me consider him.

Jonathan Pryce (Tomorrow Never Dies, Pirates of the Caribbean) could be pretty good as somebody...but I'm not sure who.

Timothy Spall (Last Samurai, Prisoner of Azkaban) would make a rather good Moff Disra.

    Jacen Solo: Ethan Hawke
    Jaina Solo: Karen Cliche
    Kyp Durron: Victor Webster
    Jagged Fel: Matthew Keeslar
    Tenel-Ka: Jolene Blalock
    Tonnie: Virginia Hey
Corran Horn: Adam Baldwin or Scott Patterson

Julianne Moore being Mara in looks would work.
I have only seen her play really nice ladies like in JP The Lost World. Can she pull the attitude from TTT and JAT????

I really don't care about the height thing for Jaina.

I always try to match someone physically first; weed out those that don?t match the character?s description. I don?t care how good of an actor you are if you don?t look like the character you are supposed to be portraying. Once I have a my group of candidates, then I choose the best actor from that list to make my final selection. Lucas used these same criteria when casting the prequels. For Obi-Wan, he needed someone who resemled Sir Alec Guinness, including the blue eyes. It was imperative that he find someone with a particular look. The same held true for Anakin; he needed someone who was blonde-haired and blue-eyed; everyone else was rejected out-right. For the adult Anakin in AotC, he needed someone not only blonde and blue-eyed, but also tall with a certain edge to him. This same criteria should be used with Jaina and the others. Physically, Jaina is little, not just petite, but very tiny. Any actress chosen must meet the physical criteria first and formost; you can?t have a tall woman play a short woman, it just doesn?t work.

I also have a serious pet peeve about people re-casting someone who has already been officially cast, such as Mara Jade, Palpatine, Corran, Talon Karrde, etc. Please leave these characters alone. Let?s concentrate on those characters who have never been portrayed by a real person already.

Ralph Macchio? He's too old to play Jacen.......and I don't think he does much acting these days. ;)

I was going to suggest Anne Hathaway for Jaina - then I looked her height up. She's too tall. Maybe Natalie Portman. ;) She's 5'3" and she does play the future grandmother Skywalker (Padme) of Jaina. ;)

I know Mara has already been cast (Well, "model cast") - and I do like Shannon, but its fun to cast characters being played by other actresses/actors, too. ;) :)

Famke Jannsen would be my choice - but I think she's a tad too tall.

I'd have to think about the other characters.

? I know Mara has already been cast (Well, "model cast") - and I do like Shannon, but its fun to cast characters being played by other actresses/actors, too.?

I don?t find it fun, I feel it belittles the performers who were hired, under contract, to portray these characters, and mocks their accomplishments. I feel very strongly about this. As far as Ms Hathaway as Jaina, you?re right, she?s waaayyyy too tall. Any actress to portray Jaina needs to be within one or two inches of the character?s actuall hieght. Hathaway has to be at least five-foot eight. That?s almost a foot taller than Jaina. Natalie Portman, at five-foot three is still almost six inches taller than Jaina. Remember, Jaina stands at only four-foot ten. The tallest actress I would cast for her would stand no more than five foot even. Anything more than that is simply too tall.

And to Lone-wolf: Jolene Blalock as Tenel Ka goes; she is too old. Tenel Ka is the same age (give or take a few months) as the Solo twins. Ms Blalock is in her late twenties-early thirties. not only that, but she doesn?t have the right hari or eye color. Ezekiel 22x chose Lindsey Lohan for Jaina; however, Ms Lohan would be much better suited for Tenel Ka, not Jaina Solo.

So according to you we should have Tim Zahn play Talon Karrde and Mike Stackpole play Corran Horn? This is who was cast for the trading card game that also cast Shannon.

I will agree looks are important since the characters do have a specific description to them already, but to sit there and limit choices do to height concerns severely limits who can be cast. An actress of 5'3" can still look very petite. She may not be 4'10" but not many people are that tiny.

Jaina is 4'10. WHERE ARE YOU GOING TO FIND SOMEONE WHO ISN'T A MIDGET WHO IS 4'10?????????? See, this is why me and all of my tall friends think that all SW characters are frighteningly short.

Uma Thurman is like... six feet tall. but she would be a good Mara.
