I'm really only looking for one clip of blood stock footage (like Detonation Films, only with blood), and that's with it hitting the camera lens. I need it to be stock footage primarily because there's going to be CG on screen, and I don't quite know how to composite CG when there's going to be real blood splattered across the camera lens. So in that sense, I need it to be stock footage so that I can key it seperately. Any links or ideas?

Just make the footage yourself and mask out whatever should be hidden by the blood. Change opacity to taste.

Make it himself?! Heh. Funk-E scores again. You keep on responding first, and I'll just umm... keep on bumping them. :)

Actually I think it'll work if you just take one single frame of the blood on the lens... in "reality" this would happen so fast, that you wouldn't see it actually spraying towards the camera. (At least if you're talking about an effect as seen in "Starship Troopers", where a shot CG-bug drops in front of the camera, spraying some spurts of blood onto the lens).

So, just take a picture of SOMETHING splattered on ANYTHING... like paint splatters on a wall (or paint it yourself in a graphic program). Then cut out the splatters, colorize them red, and put them on top of your video.

Oh, and very importantly: blur the blood-layer a little bit... it wouldn't be in focus when being directly on the lens. And don't make it too bright... it wouldn't get lit very much.

Blood Tutorial (not the best, and nothing with lenses)

Some Splatters (more arstically, but anyway)
