I mean..is it possible that early in Indy that a place is open that serves an actual breakfast menu that's near the convention center and within walking distance?

I imagine most hotels will have breakfast stuff, but this might be a good idea. I wouldn't mind getting a good breakfast before waiting in a very long line.

Not sure if their are any nearby.

I don't know that I'm interested in 5am, but I'd also like to know if there are places that serve breakfast right around the convention center.

There are, but I can't recall the last time I woke up at 5 am to eat...going to bed at 5 am is a different story.

Steak N Shake is open 24-7. McDonald's could possibly be open that early, but I don't know. Most hotels probably have some sort of Starbucks-type coffee cart with bagels and muffins and what not. I'd just plan ahead the day before and bring something with you...because you won't be the only person looking to eat that early before getting in line, so lines on top of lines...

As you know though, there's little time to plan to eat when there's always "something" going on. :) I mean, I don't even know when I'm going to have time to eat quite honestly but breakfast is the one meal I'm going to need to eat a lot of to keep going all day and night.

So lets hear some more suggestions if anyone has any.

Well, one way or the other, the GL madness will be over by 10:30 (you'll either be in the 3rd show, already had seen him, or turned away)...I'm not a big breakfast person anyway, so holding off for an early lunch is most likely what I'll do...though I'll need coffee...might have to bring my coffee maker & thermos to the hotel room and stock up.....then I can set up a lemonade-esque coffee stand while in line with some Dixie cups... $$$$$$$

Need to get more thermoses & Dixie cups....

There are several fast food places around. Steak and Shake is open 24 hours. It's on the corner of Mayland and Illinois. Only a block or 2 from the con.

Steak N Shake is open 24-7.

I think I ate there with an online friend last time. Could you remind me how far it is to this place? I plan on bring stuff for breakfast for 3 of the days, but my FanForce might do breakfast one morning, which is why I ask. :)

There's a Burger King at Washington and Illinois.

    A Mcdonald's at 115 W Washington as well.

Here's a link to the Convention Center and all the surrounding Restaurants.

The Embassy Suites has breakfast included in your rate. Not sure what time they start serving, but I'm hoping its early as I am also an early riser. Did I hear someone say coffee? ;)

Hmm...I wonder what time the Marriott has a breakfast, if they serve one...

Guess that's what NutriGrain bars are for!

places to get breakfast at 5am? In the bag I'll be carrying, I'm sure I'll be carrying a box of breakfast/granola/whatever bars and juice and/or water so, I'll be eating those somewhere between 6 and 8 I guess......so, if I see you starving, I'll help a fellow fan out and use the Force to throw a breakfast bar at ya.....

Also, I'd be a little concerned about eating grease (combined with alcohol, for some, from the night before) and the like that early in the morning....I could do without the noise/smell/etc in line........hey ho (tapping microphone) is this thing on? :) Hoaky breakfast and ancient grease are no match for good Gas-X in your side kid, (otherwise, without it) you could bounce to close to a fan standing in line and that'd end our trip real quick, wouldn't it :)

Not having been to the dome before, I googled the crap out of everything around town. There is an IHOP at 1549 N Meridian St, Indianapolis, 46202 -
    (317) 635-6281
They may not be in walking distance, but it has to be better than choking down the sludge that is served @ Mcd's.

IHOP is not in walking distance. If you do walk, it's about 15 blocks north and 3 or 4 blocks east.

    Too far for most.

The Indiana Convention Center website has links to places to eat.

I'll also be stowing some PowerBars, Yogurt Cereal Bars, and NutriGrain Bars in my bag. May have an MRE entree or 2. (Military Meals Ready To Eat stuff) :D

If I can't gat any Starbucks or hotel coffee on the way, its a V8 for me.

Saturday would be a good day for a sit-down breakfast somewhere though.

Save yourself some money and bring something from home. Granola bars and fruit will hold up ok for the duration of CIII. It will leave you with more money for autographs and whatnot.

I remembered I was soooo excited to try White Castles when I was in Indiana last time... I remember the runs I had shortly thereafter.

    AVOID!!!!!
