It's a very interesting horror/comedy film from the eighties.

It stars William(Greatest American Hero)Katt as a horror novelist who moves into his mother's house(she's dead), and strange, and funny things begin to happen to him.

George Wendt also stars as William's neighbor, and gets added to the list of crazy goings on in the film.

The film was directed by the man who directed the first Friday the 13th movie

i remember watching both the first one and the second, and i remember the covers, but i have no recollection of anything that happened in the movie.

i should rent them out again and go on a nostaligia trip.

Saw it in the theaters many moons ago. Good movie. Fun watching Richard Moll from Nightcourt play a bad guy.

I haven't seen this in ages! I used to watch it all the time , cause HBO showed it to death.

Didn't really care for the second one.

Yes, House was actually produced by the guy who directed the original Friday the 13th, Sean S. Cunningham. It was directed by Steve Miner, who helmed Friday the 13th Parts 2 and 3-D.

Very fun movie that I was recommending a few days ago in the "Best Halloween seasonal movies" thread.

I also recommended House 2: The Second Story. It turned off a lot of people with its lighter tone and all new characters, but if you watch it with the right mindset, it's also really fun. And quite hilarious. Royal Dano is classic as Gramps. And just as Goege Wendt is in the original, John Ratzenberger is in this as an electrician/adventurer :p.It's more of an adventure comedy than horror comedy, but a very entertaining one. With the big bonus of one of Harry Manfredini's best scores.

By all means, take the nostalgia trip. I've got the DVD for House that comes with House 2 as well. Easy to find and highly recommended.

Sure do. I liked the first one much better than the second (can't really deal with the whole supernatural puppet as a pet thing). It's a good, scary movie with a great sense of humor.

Yep, Phinzx, I believe they call it the caterpuppy. Part puppy, part caterpillar.

Another pet the heroes adopt is a prehistoric, baby pterodactyl. :p Yes, the film is way "out there". See it. :)

Ahh yes, House. Pretty good little film actually and well received at the time it came out IIRC. From what I remember it is an entertaining movie and probably worth a rental for those that want to go the nostalgia route. ;)

Wow. Such a great movie, I really have to see it again.

    The few parts I remember:

'Norm' getting sucked into the closet?

    and my favorite:

Breaking the glass of the bathroom medicine cabinet which led into darkness, and climbing inside, and down into the darkness via a rope. (I believe this is where he first meets the pteradactyl?)

Wow, I really have to see this again.
