You Know I will be there!! :D The unfortunate thing is that they are making it nearly impossible to be a Jedi. :( Oh well, it will make Jedi truly respected charaters in the game!

Are we sure that Galaxies is gonna get released in April. I've been jerked around on the release date of this game for the past 2 years. I can't wait for it to come out though. I intend for it to eliminate any life that I may still have left. I'll meet you all at the rendezvous point on Tatooine.

I believe that this time April is going to be the actual release... Time will tell though.... I would wait another 2 years for the game though, as long as they get it right and it is better than EQ I will be happy....

SOME MORE STAR WARS GALAXIES INFO.....

Unlike many traditional roleplaying games, there are no "levels" in Star Wars Galaxies. Instead, your character's advancement is much more flexible. Star Wars Galaxies is built around a skill-based system, in which the skills you possess largely define your character's abilities and relative strengths.
    Skills, Disciplines and Professions
At the beginning of the game, you will choose a starting profession for your character (Artisan, Brawler, Entertainer, Marksman, Medic, or Scout). A profession is a collection of skills that represent a particular role or activity. Each profession begins with a few basic skills, and then branches upward into more specialized skills. All skills are organized into various disciplines (a tiered group of related skills). You have complete control over which skills you select, what disciplines you advance through and which professions you become.

    Acquiring New Skills
Acquiring skills is not simply a matter of "buying" the skills you desire with the skill points you have available. Instead, access to most skills is restricted until you've fulfilled various prerequisites. Before purchasing a skill, you might be required to complete a specific mission or quest, gain experience with another related skill, or achieve a certain status. Training in many professions will also cost credits.

You may decide to make your character a jack-of-all-trades by learning many different professions, though each time you add a new profession, the skill point cost for gaining new skills increases. Instead you may concentrate on just a few areas for specialization, achieving mastery in just one or two professions. The higher-tier skills are generally more expensive to acquire, in both skill points and credits; they also have more rigorous prerequisites. Every character has a maximum learning capacity (pool of skill points) so no character will be able to master every skill at the same time.

    Changing Your Skills and Professions
Once you decide to learn a skill, you are not stuck with that skill for the rest of your character's life. You may give up skills you no longer want in order to free up skill points, which can then be spent on new and different skills. For example, if you find that you do not enjoy being a mechanic and would rather try your hand at galactic politics, you may "sell back" your mechanical skills and begin reassigning the freed up skill points to political skills. You will still need to satisfy any prerequisites the new skills require, but no skill points are lost in the reallocation.

    Current List of Professions
Star Wars Galaxies will include over 30 unique professions. Note that certain professions are considered ?Elite? and will not be available to starting characters.

    Starting Professions:
    Artisan
    Brawler
    Entertainer
    Marksman
    Medic
    Scout

    Elite and Hybrid Professions:
    Architect
    Armorsmith
    Bounty Hunter
    Carabineer
    Chef
    Combat Medic
    Commando
    Creature Handler
    Dancer
    Doctor
    Droid Engineer
    Farmer
    Fencer
    Image Designer
    Industrialist
    Jedi
    Merchant
    Miner
    Musician
    Pikeman
    Pistoleer

I guess the got rid of the pilots, and ship building & repair skills. I had heard that they removed alot of the ship stuff for now so they could go gold in time.

But....soon we will have the flight expansion and all that stuff will be included. I don't think that having the pilot and ship skills will be that bad since you can learn multiple skills without giving up anything. So you will just have to become a bad-ass something else before becoming a bomb pilot... :)

    FROM THE OFFICIAL SITE...

9.01 Will I be able to own a vehicle?

One of our highest priorities after release (and fixing any critical issues) is to do an Update featuring player vehicles. Fantastic vehicles are part of Star Wars and we wouldn't want to deprive fans of this element. We're hoping to eventually include a number of different vehicles for players to buy, use, and modify.

    9.02 Will there be a vehicle-based weapons?

Yes, we plan to support them. At first, we're going to only let vehicles have one nose-mounted weapon though.

9.03 What will happen to my vehicles when I log out?

Vehicles are planned to stick around for a while if left unattended, but not forever. The safe way to keep hold of your vehicle is to store it, and we're going to provide ways to do that.

9.04 Will Pod Racing be in the initial release of SWG?

Podracing is something we'd like to include somewhere down the road, but will not be in the initial launch product. It's basically an entire game in and of itself (see LucasArts' Racer!).

I can not wait for this MMORG!!! I have always wanted to make my own way around Mos Eisley, perhaps set up shop selling spare starship parts or such, and hang out at the Cantina.
