Hi folks, A friend of Mike's mom's is running a Cake Auction for the Cub Scout's in Lancaster, and the kids are huge Star Wars fans. The group came to this year's Star Wars Night and is looking to have some characters appear for this event. Event Date: Jan. 25 Event Time: 6:30-8 Location: Elk's Lodge, Lancaster I know it's a week night, so it's harder for some folks to be available, but I know it'll probably be easier for others. I myself should be available for this appearance. We should also be able to get in at least a half hour early and have a room to change in.
As a former Cub Scout (yes, they had Cub Scouts in Cenozoic Era!), I would be proud to participate. I'll bring Admiral Ackbar.
My wife Kim, who is developing a "Major Kalonia" (Chewie's doctor in TFA) costume is planning to attend. I told her there would be no Wookies to treat, but she wants to come anyway.
Peter, I think the kids would LOVE having a Stormtrooper. I know it's much more work, but I think it'll be worth it. I spoke with the organizer of the event, and we can arrive at 6, and they have a room for us to get changed in. The event itself starts at 6:45, so we'll have time to get ready. If we want to set up a table, just for info and whatnot, they can provide us the space necessary. I don't know if we want to bring the photo backdrops, or not. I should be available for the event, so I will gladly help set them up. They've requested that some of our members present the cakes that are being auctioned off. I said I was sure that wouldn't be a problem. The address is 33 Legion Parkway, Lancaster. It's right off Broadway in the village. Thank you to everyone who made it out tonight! It was a lot of fun, a lot of cool cakes, and the kids were VERY appreciative of us coming to visit. They're going to send us some of the photos they took of us and the group.
