Ever wondered what Area 51, the Air Force's top secret military installtion in Nevada, is hiding? Ever heard of Foo Fighters, orbs of light seen by both sides of World War II? Ever wonder what is beneath the Sphinx?

Ive recently read two and a half books of Robert Doherty's series "Area 51" that is about aliens involved in the evolution of human civilization and a group of humans are trying to prevent the destruction of their race as two factions of an alien race fight each other.

Ever thought that King Arthur could be an alien? Or Excalibur an alien key made from alien metals? Is the Holy Grail and the Ark of the Covenat[sp?] alien artificats or objects of God?

Doherty ties all our legends and myths with these aliens. Its pretty good, there are a total of 6 novels in the series and I'm on the third book "Area 51: The Mission".

This series will make you think a different view about our history.

That sounds pretty cool. I became facinated with UFO's since I was a little Padawan. I think that there is something at Area 51 or maybe NORAD. Maybe the government conspiricies like the X-Files are really true.

I believe in the possibility of advanced civilizations in the universe.
I believe in the possiblity of those Civilizations sending discreet probes to keep an eye out.
With that said, I don't believe in Area 51 having a crashed space ship with real live dead alien bodies. What goes on there is advanced weapon testing(aircraft) and nothing more.
    If I'm wrong...GREAT!!
Absence of evidence is not absence of existance, but I just think its all a fun mythology.
I want to believe, but for now I do not.

I do belive in other life forms "out there", but I don't think they are as advanced as us.

I do consider aliens Sci-Fi also.

Thats nice. Your thread is broad, this one is specific. Mostly about Area 51 the series or other alien [invasion] novels (aka books).

Mitth! Dude! I love these books. I should also mention the next book (The Truth) is coming out in January 2003 and Robert is writing the first book in the follow-on series, which will be called Nosferatu.

Cool! Now I can get mom to stop bugging me as to when the next one comes out. [face_laugh]

She didn't like The Mission and Excalibur that much. I can see why The Mission isnt that popular with her, its kinda slow.

    Thanks for the site, man!

No problem. We (my father and I) got most of our relitives involved. Unfortunantly, we have to finish the books very quickly and pass it onto each of them. :D

I can't wait for the movie.

Finally, The Mission was kinda slow, but with the way Bob describes the disease, it gets disgusting, but helps show how much The Mission (organization form) and its evil minions are ruining the world.

Thats what I did. I bought Holy Grail first and told my mom about it. She didn't want to read out of order so we bought Area 51. She liked it, got the rest, and Dad decied to read the first one, liked it too.

So I ended up getting them involved in the series.

I hate to say this...... the first book in the series and it was one of those rare gems I had to throw away.
I haven't been able to read any of the rest of them.
I feel so bad for saying that. Don't spend the money on it, but I encourage you to go to the liabary and check it out for free if you want to tell me I am wrong.
If you are looking for a really really good book about the subject matter go look for a non-fic called The Dreamland Chronicles. That is a really awesome overveiw of the place.

What other fictional alien invasion novels are out there, besides "War of the Worlds"?

Wow...... poison is a pretty appropriate word!!!
But no need to be that harsh on the book, I mean someone paid him to write a couple of sequels!!!!
What kind of Alien Invasion books are you looking for? It seems like you want something involving grey aliens and Area 51. If that is the case I would recogmend Nighteyesby Garfeild Reeves-Stevens... at least I think that is his name. It's definatly the name of the book though.

Ive been looking for more Reeves-Stevens novels ever since I read Icefire and Quicksilver. Kept finding Star Trek ones, ick.

Nah. Any type of alien invasion novels. I'm reading Harry Turtledove's Worldwar series right now. Where alien lizards invade Earth during WWII.

    What's Nightseye about specifically?

Read Erich Von Daniken's "Chariots of the Gods." It's non-fiction, and it will blow your mind. Word is the next Indiana Jones is part influenced on Daniken's hypotheses.

Gotta tell you...most of this thesis is about as accurate as the Grail theories (ie. not very.)

Read one of the debunkers and then decide. I did.

Starship Troopers is more along the lines of Military Sci-fi.

Yeah, its "non"-fiction. Chariots of the Gods has a much basis in reality as Holy Blood, Holy Grail, which is to say non at all.
