TV Discussion Asajj Ventress [2024 Spoilers]

Ultimately, Ventress sacrificed herself to save Quinlan’s life, taking the brunt of Dooku’s Force lightning during their final confrontation.

Maybe poor Alpha-17 will come back too one day.

 

I mean you can say what you want but she is in the trailer. Can’t really dispute that

 

I think there's only about 3 possibilities.
1. A flashback
2. Nightsister magick
3. Cloning: I know this ties into the show, but I don't find it particularly likely. Cloning force-sensitives is extremely difficult and I'm pretty sure the only force-sensitive clone that might've been around shortly after the end of the Clone Wars is Snoke. Or at least clones of him, and he's a Strand-Cast.

 

Palpatine’s clone that ends up as Rey’s father is born about 4 years after the events of this show. And from the way things are described he wasn’t the first palpatine strand cast

 

How can it be a flashback if it appears as though she's meeting the BB team in the present?

The bottom line is that Filoni was completely aware of the DD story and you can count on him having through this all the way through so it doesn't question canon. I'm not sure if this is to give her character any sort of send-off, however. That's what DD was supposed to do. But as far as I'm concerned, in Dave Filoni I trust.

 

Nightsister magics crazy stuff..

 

Truthfully this revelation can open the door for even more possibilities with the character. Hate all you want, but if she somehow does live through this (and say, she remains in isolation on Dathomir or some other distant Outer Rim planet), the character could even make it through to the Ahsoka timeline.

Now that would be a heck of a reunion. The Nightsisters are already have a big presence in the stories.

Assajj Ventress now has a big chance to get live action treatment for maybe Ahsoka season 2.

I wonder on the possibility of Nika Futterman reprising the character's role in LA form. She's in her 50s; but then again isn't that how old Ventress could be herself? Obviously she has far more credits as a VA, but she does have some work in LA.

 

Yes. For once she would be about the right age to play her in live action

 

I love Filoni willingness to not restrict himself by what SW writers did to tell the stories he wants to tell.

 

But I mean he literally made that story. Dark Disciples was a cancelled clone wars arc. So he’s just contradicting himself.

 

I certainly hope they can make it work and reconcile it all, but we’ll see.

 

I mean that is the intent. Brad Rau has said so. How much it actually works I don’t know. I think the only way to do it properly is if Quinlan learns of it

 

Arc was canceled. Someone else wrote it and he instead is changing it. Works for me. Treats Disney books like EU.
