attacktix.....a silver base super battle droid??

I've started building my collection, and in a random pack of three, I came across a super battle droid with a silver metal base instead of a black base like all the other figures. I was wondering if this is a mistake, or something special?? thanks.

 

I think there are two versions of every figure - one with a black base, and one with a silver metal base. The silver ones obviously are rarer, and are randomly inserted into packages.

 

Wow just what i didn't need to know. more veriations to try to find and collect.

 

YodaJeff is correct...every single figure has a silver or "chrome" base version that is more rare than the standard black base version.

Some Attacktix collectors have been trying to collect two sets because of the variation. Some of us (like myself) don't really care too much though. Since I'm actually playing the game rather than assembling a full set for display I've been trading mine off.

At conventions Hasbro also has a very limited number of solid "chrome" figures (not just the base) to be used as trophies for competitions. They're actually a bit ugly...but I'm sure if you were one of the handful of people who had one it would be the centerpiece of your collection.
