Nu-metal is awesome....a better music genre doesn't exist.

 

Hey, I know! Let's all hate something just because of its genre!

 

I hate the nu metal bands that are out there now.When 1 begins to impress me I will cease to hate the genre.

But what do I or you care anyway.

Here's what I don't like about it...

1) distortion is getting old...find some new effects please
2) almost all the guitarists can't really play
3) its more about your hairdo and clothes than about how you well you can play

if a band can fix these problems then I will like them

 

Look at Tool....they don't suffer from any of those problems.

 

Tool came out in the early 90's dude.That wasn't nu-metal.They were around when Metallica were just starting to get big.

*sigh* I think nu-metal is probably the most confused genre of music out there. People tend to consider pretty much every recent rock/hard rock/rap rock act out there as "nu-metal." Slipknot, system of a down, Mudvayne, Soulfly, Disturbed and the like are not nu metal. Hell, Korn isn't really nu-metal either. Limp Bizkit (their first album anyway), Linkin Park, Revellie (more rap-core than nu metal though), 311 to some extent, etc... are. Nu-metal groups are just somewhat heavy bands that have an added rap or hip-hop element to it.

It's just a damned industry-coined label anyway.



But whatever.

Tool's singer is in A Perfect Circle is he not? They derive from Metal roots and are a Metal band.Not Nu Metal.Same goes for a band like The Strokes.They are retro post-punk rock.Late 70's style.Or to say it better...a diamond in the rough.

 

Bossk, name a few bands which you think are nu-metal and suck.

Korn (although a few tunes are decent)

there are more of them that I don't know the names of...but the ones I mentioned are pretty crappy

 

You might actually like the song I posted then, because the band that does it (Demon Hunter) isn't really like any of those bands.

 

I hate most of those bands anyway too...


However, most of the bands I like such as deftones or tool fall under the nu-metal genre. See why I like it?

 

Whoever calls Tool nu-metal is ignorant!

Deftones fall under the category and I have to admit that they are pretty good.Usually the first groups that make up the genre are decent.The posers however,are not.

Same goes for Pop/punk.Green Day started that whole sub genre up and then the record companies try to cash in on it with American Hi-Fi,Sum 41,and any other band that knows 3 chords.
