Okay, I'm wondering, as I'm reading the novels, what is the deal with Wedge and his brother-in-law? Did he ever find his sister, or is she missing or dead?

Why does Fel keep going back and forth? What was the whole deal?

    HELP!

Yeah - Jag's been with Wedge's group for a while now, I'm sure Wedge would have asked him what happened to his mother (Wedge's sister) and we'd know. I think that's being saved for something, or the authors just haven't come up with a story for that yet.

What books? The X-Wing series? Fel isn't in that series. Its just someone posing as him. Wedge, as far as I know, doesn't find his sister in any books, but he might.

Fel's entry in the New Essential Guide to Characters covers all of this. I don't remember any of it offhand, though, but I'll check it later and post relevant stuff. All I DO remember is that the artist rendition of Fel makes him look like The Rock. :D

Wedge has not seen his sister Syal since he was a child. She ran away from the refueling post to become a movie star, which she did. Wedge was with the Terriks when he watched as his parents were killed saving their refueling station from fire. He tried to become a smuggler for the Alliance before trying out as a Fighter jock. We all know how that worked out.

Soontir Fel joined the Imperial Academy, the same class with Biggs, Tycho, Wes, and Han (IIRC). He went on to be given the command of the washed out 181st Fighter Group. He whiped them into shape and the 181st gained an all new reputation. With his new higher class he met a young holo-star while at a party on Imperial Centre. This was Syal, of course, under an assumed name (her brother's fame was going to be a problem if she used her real name. I believe her name was Wynssa Starflare). During the few months after the fall of Palpatine at Endor Fel flew against Rogue Squadron and was shot down. He told his story to Wedge, and then agreed to join Rogue Squadron.

By joining Rogue Squadron, Soontir Fel (with Wedge's help) aided in preventing Syal from being captured by Isard or any of the warlords. Although, soon Fel himself was captured by Isard and given to Thrawn.

After the Thrawn crisis Fel escaped to Thrawn's home base, where he met up with Syal again and started a family. They had at least 5 children, 3 of which died in battle before the Vong invassion.

Wedge meets up with his newphew, Jagged Fel, for the first time in the Dark Tide doulogy and then again in Enemy Lines. One of Wedge's daughters, first seen in the Union comic, was named after his lost sister. :)

FYI, Syal is the chick in my icon.

Two died, not three. He was just being pessimistic over Jag. Davin and Cherith died. They're the only Fel kids who've "become one with the Force".

    Wedge:

I'm trying to recall how the NEGtC accounts for the REST of Fel's disappearance -- he's gone at some point between the end of the 'Mandatory Retirement' comic arc, and the beginning of the book 'Rogue Squadron'. I'm just too lazy to go look it up. ;)

    Perfectly understandable. I've made screw-ups myself. :)

Do we know what Syal looks like?

Yep. Check out the comics "In the Empire's Service" and "Blood and Honor" for more Fel and Syal's history. Also, just read the entire Rogue Squadron series, Fel and Wedge are both main characters of course. :D

Also, I've edited my original post a few times with additional information if you missed it.

He was actually cloned during the original Thrawn Trilogy, but this was not revealed until Leia and Han stumbled onto a sleeper cells on Pakrik Minor where a dozen Fel-clones worked as farmers (and assumed the identities of brothers named Devist). They joined the New Republic and helped uncover the cloaked Star Destroyers at the battle of Bothawui, flying in TIE Interceptors with the New Republic insignia painted on their solar panels. It is unknown how many of the twelve survived the battle, though with Baron Fel as a genetic template, my money is on a lot of them.
