Well, you could always start with a white unitard and dye it the color you want. They can be found fairly easily at any dancewear shop, and they often take dye quite well (it's a good idea to test the color in an inconspicuous area of the bodysuit).
Also, many dancewear shops carry unitards and bodysuits in a fairly wide range of colors, so you might just find what you're looking for without having to go through the dye process.
    :)

There was a Bastilla Shan in some of the pics people took at DragonCon. Maybe you could ask around and try to find her as well.

I've worked with Renaissance Dancewear and I love their work. It's reasonably priced and custom sewn to your measurements, so there's less gaposis. They're usually really open to customs, so just ask if there's a special color or shade.

I didn't catch a glimpse of the one at D*C.. it's a costume I've been seriously thinking of making.

Body suits are really really easy.... I've made.. 4 of them so far, and they are also really easy to adapt to different shapes as sizes.. especially whem working with a stretch fabric.

You just need to have a machine that can sew stretch fabrics, a stretch needle and good thread that won't break when sewn.. the amount of thread needed is much greater than regular sewing (though probably not overlocking.)

Depending ont he fabric, you should be able to dye/overdye a prebought costume if you can't afford a custom made one or can't make one yourself.

Cotton lycra takes up dye as well as cotton does, and nylon lycra (shiny stuff) also takes dye up really well, even if some people will say you can't dye it;) Dylon will dye nylon but not polyester (well not well anyway.)

The base suit luckily is really easy.. you could easily get away with a regular body suit.. or even top and pants.. the belt could hide it.. and it would make things much easier in the being a real human who drinks water department;)
