This had great potential but was all spoiled by Jar Jar Binks. One of Lucas's greatest blunders

Depends on what you consider the battle. I consider the lightsaber fight, the Queen storming the castle, the Gungan battle, and the space battle all are part of what we call the Battle of Naboo. I think all of it put together works out nicely and it's one of my favorites.

Well, the battle gave Jar Jar a set of blue balls.

It was a diversion. It worked. Mission accomplished.

There isn't what could have been. It is only what it turned out to be.

I can't relate to people who can't stand Jar-Jar. I think he's a good character, who is played for laughs a lot in TPM. To me that's a good thing.

I agree to some extent. I don't hate Jar Jar, I just think he is kind of a drawback in some situation. His part in the plot in helping Obi-Wan and Anakin was very good, but after that I thought it would be best if his character was dimissed from that point. Then, by chance, the Jedi would meet up with him again and he would make peace between the Gungans and the Naboo government.

He has no purpose in being included in any of the scenes from that point because he obviously didn't have much of a part in Attack of the Clones.

TPM: Queen Amidala "Jar Jar Binks?. Yes, I need your help"

Senator Amidala "..it will be your responsibility to take my place in the Senate. Representative Binks, I know I can count on you".

Both ways, he "represented" something He was needed. o_O

When I clicked on this thread, I was expecting something a bit more mature and enlightening than "JAR JAR SUCKS, STAR WARS IS SUPPOSED TO BE TEH MATURR!".

I think Binks licks more that he does suck.

However, sometimes he does both at the dinner table.

And therefore has been arrested. :p

And I'm not sure what you're trying to insinuate. We all love each here.

but i think he was shown too much in that Battle.

That's why the droids wanted to keep chasing the Gungans to see if they could get their hands on Binks :p Once again, Padme's diversion took the attention off Naboo palace.

I couldn't get enough of the gungan/droid battle. Jar-Jar's antics were genuinely funny, while heroic struggles between other gungans and droids were all around him.
