Just snow, a crashing snowspeeder and an AT-AT foot, but that's basically the Battle of Hoth in a nutshell anyway. Quite excited, wonder if there's any chance they'll actually reach Endor's fleet battle this time since everybody does the Battle of Hoth, but still, excited.
EA's SW:BF title card: Even the little scene looked cool. I can't wait for this. Nothing on release date.
The pessimist in me is worried about EA doing it, and also concerned about DICE making it after Battlefield 3. But in the end it's better than nothing.
Nothing on that, but only Dice's game was annouced. So both the Bioware and the Visceral games are still unknown.
First I was like "Ooooh Snow", then I was like "Was that a snowspeeder?", then I saw the AT-AT foot and screamed "STAR WARS!", then I saw the battlefront sign and died. Now I just gotta hope they don't make it a FPS since I cannot stand playing anything FPS.
I am totally unimpressed by pre-rendered stuff even for a teaser. Show us something real, plz, even if it's just as brief. If they bring it back, I hope it's the original Fett-less version.
Can't say I am overly excited. I like stories that expand the universe, not simply re-tread stuff we already know. Now, if we got a new X-wing game or a new strategy game, THEN it would get my attention. --Adm. Nick
Dude, you literally just said "man, I'm tired of all these odd numbers--what I'd really like is a five".
Not exactly, dude. Let me elaborate a bit more. Let's use my X-wing as an example. Imagine an X-wing game set during the Yuuzhan Vong Invasion. You could start off as a young recruit, join a squadron, and then fight your way through dozens of missions, both iconic (Battle of Ithor, retreat from Coruscant, Ebaq Nine, etc) as well as new ones that flesh out stuff we never saw or could of happened (ie, stopping an ambush at Sullust or aiding the Dornean Navy's efforts to keep their corner of the Outer Rim free of Vong domnination). This method allows for familiar stuff AND expands the universe. Battlefront 3? So help me Christ, there is no other angle of the Battle of Hoth that could concievably interest me. Simply re-treading the most covered poritions of the GCW jus doesn't appeal to me. Hell, I love the battle of Endor, but I have fought it enough times that there aren't many suprises: "OMG, the Liberty just blew up! You mean to tell me that the Death Star is operational?" A strategy game, IMO, has tremendous potential as well. I am talking something on the scale of Rebellion. You could either do random games or play scenarios that set you in a galactic state of affairs consistent with a certain era. Like, Vong War, post-NJO, or Legacy. Each one has the same worlds, but different ships, characters, allegiances, etc. Anyways, that is what I was getting at. Hope that clarifies things! --Adm. Nick
This just in! Lit Forum Manager AdmiralNick22 gives Battle of Hoth teaser a cold reception, citing his refusal to be tripped up by familiar conceits!
Maybe a prequel to the Darth Bane era. Three-way war between Sith, Jedi, and Hutts. EDIT: Come to think of it- Knight Errant could be taken in that direction ...
I wonder if any ST stuff will be included in this game. Perhaps as a cameo, like the Naboo Starfighter in some Rogue Squadron games.
Hahaha, I'm excited and everything, but they actually used Hoth. HOTH, for crying out loud. Gahahahaha.
Battlefield 3? Battlefield 3 is awesome! Far better than Call of Duty. I'm just hoping it stays the Battlefield 3 style of grunts and vehicles making up the forces, and drops the stupid heroes mechanic from Battlefront 2. And that they avoid trying to do space battles in favor of making a real space fighter sim again.
Give us the Execution Arena and the inside of the Palace of Theed! The Battle of Endor would be cool. The Empire could launch off the Executor and the 2nd Death Star. I want a level to be on a Star Destroyer, Droid Control Ship or the Invisible Hand. TOR levels could work. ST levels are needed. EU as well.
I'm so glad to see they're doing a battle of Hoth for the first time this generation. Here's to many more!
Yes. Yes. A thousand times yes. Any game that is set during the Yuuzhan Vong war gets the greenlight with me. I don't care if it's an RTS, an FPS, Simulation, Flying anything, just get me some Vong.
