The great Rathbone getting some GFFA love. Somewhat indirectly. I assume the initial cheeky nod is to Basil of Baker Street, The Great Mouse Detective.

 

Bazil looks cute.

 

Looking up Basil Rathbone (Sherlock Holmes), I learned that he was a two-time British Army Fencing Champion, and taught swordsmanship to Errol Flynn and Tyrone Power. I'm hoping Bazil's not merely a tracker, but a swashbuckling Jedi as well.

On the subject of furry creatures... In the opening shot of the bar scene of Acolyte episode 1, is that Sid the Sloth sitting at the first table? I guess it's meant to be the owner's son.

Anyway, this furry creature looks great.

Now that we’ve been blessed with Bazil, I reckon there’s one or two thousand review bombers regretting their rage raids on Rotten Tomatoes.

 

They should be happy though:

this episode killed the wookie in the Acolyte! so the acolyte is no more too wookie?

 

I'm sorry but the Jedi somehow losing track of him was terrible writing.

 

Do you have a reason to support this claim, or just a feeling?

 

I loved that Bazil was just part of the Jedi crew en route to Brendok. Osha's surprise at meeting him on the ship was a fun little moment.

 

Yeah definitely have reasons.

Firstly the Jedi were following him through the forest. They should've had sight on him at all times.

Secondary the Jedi can sense living beings through the force and are very athletic so it should be extreme hard for one to lose track of Bazil, let alone multiple Jedi.

Even when Bazil somehow got seperated from the Jedi he's bad at his job for not making sure the Jedi were still there. He's a still a sentient being, he should've been smart enough to not lose them.

 

Hence why

Bazil must be the apprentice or the Sith Lord! He managed to elude a whole flock of Jedi like nothing!

 

He should've been a Jedi. I thought he was one for a second when he first appeared.
