Basically, what are they? I expected by that know, given how we are going into Force gods territory (with The Ones and Abeloth) they would get an explanation, but they didn't.

What is more interesting is that so far in their brief appearance they were shown to be far and above everyone else including The Ones and Abeloth, the were they were presented they had no limitation whatsoever, with someone even saying something like "I created time by accident", performing time, matter and even reality manipulation like no one ever did.

It is almost like they could blink and the Galactic Empire would be no more.

Any idea what they were? Perhaps their power source came from another thing that wasn't The Force.

There's not even enough info on them to form a credible theory.

Star Wars author Joseph Bongiorno once intended to details the various Lovecraftian entities of the Star Wars universe in an RPG article. Unfortunately, it was cancelled. We may never know...

I doubt that the Bedlam spirits are canon.

And you're wrong. Although those old Star Wars comics are Secondary Canon (meaning that they can be either discarded or reused by later, higher continuity), they were referred to in various later sources such as the Essential Atlas or Darth Plagueis. They are canon.

When they mentioned the Bedlam asylum in DP I sort of just sat there staring at the page for a while. And I strayed out of thought and time. Stars wheeled overhead and everyday was as long as a life-age of the earth. But it was not the end. Because there were still over a hundred pages left to the book.

Personally I think Dark Horse needs to hire Alan Moore onboard to do some 'splaining. He can one-up old Aby and magical sparkly TCW griffin girl any old day.

Apparently he also wrote an entire novella on this subject (which also would have included info on the Force Demons) intended for the original fiction section of Hyperspace, but Hyperspace was discontinued before it was published. :_|

Yes... he's been really unlucky with that project. But we may have received a hint that Supernatural Encounters may be revived some days...

They were created by Alan Moore, so with how other people tend to handle his work I'm expecting Tilotny to show up in a giant spaceship screeching about conquering the galaxy while shooting people with eye lasers. Oh and she was Abeloth's roommate in college or something.

    Great contingency plan.

Voren Na'al is pretty much going to have to be revealed as an inmate at the asylum, sent there by Hextrophon after writing all sorts of gibberish about what happened after Endor that bears no resemblance to the Benedict Cumberbatch/Saorise Ronan reality of the situation.

Makes you wonder why Leia didn't attempted to recruit them, they were childish, but at least she could try. Given how childish they were, I wouldn't be surprised that with the right suggestion Leia could tell them "Why don't you make me like you are, so we can play together" then they say "Sure ^^" and Bedlam Leia proceeds to Coruscant to kick some Sith asses.

Maybe she recruits Splendid Ap, and he becomes the player character in Galaxies, thus solving every Galaxies problem ever. Haircuts, species, gender, alive-ness need not apply.

The cancelled article was going to talk about some Abeloth-like being that encountered the Red Sith before the Rakata did.

That show that you did not read the issue the way Moore meant it to be read (with a opium pipe and a picture of old Maggie as a dart board) if you had done that you would have realised that Tilotny actually is a version of Leia that asked of the Bedlam spirits power and then suffered the consequence of a human mind getting omnipotent so Leia/Tilotny wiped her own mind to be able to cope and that’s why she did not realise that she had been in the GFFA before

I feel sorry for Splendid Ap. The other Spirits wouldn't stop insulting and deriding him.

And I' m not too fond of TCW being canon. However, since none of us two can decide what is canon or not, we have to deal with it. ;-)

The Atlas listed the Spirits as omnipotent, this is the highest power you can attain.
