Saga Behind Blue Eyes (Anakin is still a slave at age 19 and is found by Padme) UPDATED 2/27

Title: Behind Blue Eyes
Timeframe: Anakin is 19 years of age.
Characters: Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Qui-Gon Jinn and others.
Summary: Anakin is still a slave on Tattoine and is soon found by Padme. For the first time he leaves his home planet and is taken to the Jedi Temple.

Chapter 1

Anakin stood in the filthy junckyard and stared into the sea blue sky of Tattoine and watched as the ships flew in and out of view. Anakin Skywalker felt a tinge of jelousy as he saw the pilots leave the planet. He alway's wished he was a pilot so he could fly away from this dry planet. He diden't think it was fair.

"SKYWALKER!"

Anakin was brought back to reality at the sound of his name. It was Watto and he diden't sound happy. Usually when Watto called him like that it meant a beating. Anakin sighed and turned back to his life. A life he wished he could escape. He walked fast into the shop and found watto waiting for him with an angry look upon his ugly face.

"Have you finished what I asked of you?" Watto asked.

Anakin was silent for a moment because he knew he diden't. "No.. Sorry Master I diden't get a chance to yet."

Watto shook his head in disapointment and revealed a long whip from behind his small back.

"You remember what I said about day dreaming?" He asked.

Anakin nodded and diden't say a word. He knew what happened next. Watto would beat Anakin brutaly for even the simple things so he woulden't disobey. Ever since Anakin lost a podrace serveral years ago and according to Watto, cost him all he had.

Watto knew Anakin Skywalker was to valiable to let go and made sure he would never escape like his mother Shmi. Shmi Skywalker fled from the Junkyard, aboandoning her only son and never returned.

Anakin was brought back to reality again by white hot pain on his back and shoulders. "Ahhhh!!"

Later that night Anakin made his way back to his small hut where he lived alone. In his home was a few possesions from his past including his mothers hair clip which she wore when she was not working. He alway's kept that hair clip out in his night stand to remind himself that he was once not alone. As angry as it made him that his mother left him, he coulden't blame her. Life her was misserable is you could call it living at all. Eveyday was the same thing, work, pain, work, pain.

Anakin slowly removed his dusty shirt careful not to re-open past whip wounds that haden't healed properly. Blood trickled down his back and every movement brought pain through his sore body. But this wasen't aything new. Anakin lifted the lid of a small tin bucket and soaked a small cloth into the warm water inside. He squeezed out the water and started to clean the wounds on his shoulders and back. The water made the cuts sting and he winched as the warm water made contact to his skin.

Hours later Anakin lay on his side in his small cot. Sleep haden't come easy to him anymore, for he had continuing nightmares that plauged his sleep. Horrible nightmares of a black clad figure. He diden't know what the dreams meant, if they meant anything at all. But for some reason this figure brought fear to his heart. Anakin closed his eyes and tried to relax but found it almost impossible. A single tear slid down his cheek.


The next morning Anakin was siting in the shade, trying to repair an old work droid. He was good at fixing things, In fact there was nothing he probobly coulden't fix. He liked fixing things. It was an escape for him, like life's hardships vanished. Anakin stopped working when he heard a woman's voice. He looked up and saw young woman with long brown hair talking with his master. Anakin tilted his head to get a better look and figured this woman wasen't from this planet. For one she was wearing a long ruby red silk dress. Anyone from this planet knew the heat and woulden't be caught dead in something so heavy. The kindness in her voice was something he haden't heard since his mother.

I can?t believe that Shmi abandon her son, now, that is horrible. I mean, okay, like Anakin already said, you can?t blame her from wanting to leave, but to leave her son.

Well, is that what I think it is, maybe some love in the air, although, if Anakin is going to become a Jedi, that could as always bee a problem.
How old is Padmé, is she older or younger then Anakin?

CHAPTER 2

Anakin looked down once he saw that the woman noticed him looking at her. He waited a couple seconds and glanced up slowly. He saw she looking away which gave Anakin a second to get a good look at her. She had long brown hair which was now tied up from the heat. She had deep brown eyes and soft features. Anakin thought she was very pretty.

The woman looked back at the young man and saw him looking at her again. As if playing a game he looked down again when she glanced at him. She observed how he quickly fixed the old droid in his hand. She looked at his tan face. She saw he had the bluest eyes she'd ever seen. He had shaggy curly hair. The young woman decided to stop this game of look and don't look and introduce herself.

"Hello. Im Padme, what's your name?" She asked kindly.

The young man looked up at her. Anakin was surprised at her wanting to know his name. "Anakin.. Anakin Skywalker."

Padme reached out her hand and waited for Anakin to shake it but he diden't. She got the hint and lowered her hand when she heard Watto coming.

"I don't have the part you are looking fot and it will take a couple f days for me to get it." He said as he walked towards them.

Padme sighed. Her heart sank when she thought she would have to stay two more day's on this scorchered planet. "Very well.. Do you know of anywhere I can stay?" She asked.

"No where around here." He said. Watto glanced at Anakin who was working on the droid and grinned. "But I do know someone who has room."

Later that night after Anakin was done at the shop, He led Padme back to his hut where Watto forced him to let her stay. Anakin was not pleased with this at all. He had been used to being alone and he diden't feel comfertable with someone staying in the one place he felt he could escape from the planet.

"It's kind of small... You can use the bed.. If you want to." He said as he cleaned up the little space he had.

"No, that's ok, I don't want to put you out of your own home, After all you diden't ask for this." Padme said sweetly.

Anakin nodded his head. "Oh.. ok."

Padme sensed that Anakin was nervous. She looked around at the small hut. "It's...Cozy." She tried.

"Oh..Um yea.. I guess so." Anakin replied. Anakin pulled down the worn blanket down on his bed. He then took off his boots and placed them neatly by his bedside.

"Im going to bed.. If you don't mind.. Im kinda tired." He said quietly.

Oh, No of course, I understand." She said. She felt bad for Anakin, She felt like an unwanted visitor. "Im actually going to take a walk. Im not tired just yet." She said as she wrapped a shawl around her head to keep the sand out of her hair.

"Ok." Anakin said as he climbed stiffly under the blanket. His wounds were still if not more sore than they had been the previous night. He hoped he woulden't have any nightmares tonight. He was so tired from lack of rest. He clsoed his eyes and sleep overcame him.

When Padme arrived back at Anakin's hut she saw he was sleeping. She quietly strode into the hut and removed her shoes and shawl. She layed on a blanket that Anakin must have layed out for her. She was about to close her eyes when she heard Anakin groan as if in pain. She looked over to finds find him tossing and turning in his sleep. She though he must have had a nightmare and decided to wake him.

She put her hands on his shoulders and shook him gently but when she did he gasped in pain. She quickly removed her hands and wondered what was wrong with him. She sat back and waited for him to wake up. But then she saw what was wrong. He was lying on his stomach with his back facing up. Then she saw. His shirt on his back was a deep crimson red. She softly placed her hand on his back and felt the wet sticky substance. It was blood. She quickly but gently pulled up his shirt to make sure he was ok. She gasped at the sight of his skin. Long cuts and gashed covered his back, and where there weren't cuts, there were bruises. Old and fresh. She wanted to cry at the thought of what this young man had to endure everyday.

Chapter 3


Padme arrived back at the junkard and saw Anakin resting on a heap of old droid parts. She walked over to him and smiled. "Hello." She said. Anakin looked at her in surprise. He diden't say anything and began to work again. He was cleaning some old parts that Watto insisted be cleaned before the suns went down.

Padme persisted in getting him to talk. "I saw what happened to you...I diden't want to say anyhting, but I needed to." This got Anakin's attention.

"What are you talking about?" He demanded. Padme flinched a bit at his tone.

"Your back." She said. "I saw it last night..Why don't you leave this place?" She asked.

Anakin shook his head at the foolish question. "You woulden't understand." He said as he continued to clean.

"I know, This is a strange place, and I don't understand your ways here. But I do know that no human should suffer as you have." She reached down and placed her hand on his.

Anakin was about to pull away until he felt her warm touch. He had forgotten what it was like to feel. To feel cared for. That moment ended when he felt a sharp pain skull.

Anakin pulled his hand back and clutched his hair tightly. Padme looked on helplessly. "Anakin what's wrong?" She asked. Anakin only groaned and he shook his head as the effects wore off.

He diden't say anything else. He just twisted and rubbed the metal cuff on his ankle. Padme saw this and realized that that was why Anakin coulden't leave. That cuff on his ankle was what was preventing his escape from torture. Anakin stood up and walked into the shop leaving Padme feeling helpless. Helpless to stop his pain.

Padme left the junkyard and travled to the port where her visitor would be landing. Ships came and went all day long until the suns went down on the horizon. Finaly she saw a familiar ship come into sight. Her heart soared when she saw the logo on the hull. Anakin's savior was here. The ship landed and a long metal ramp slip out from it's side created the dust to swirl in the hot air. Once the dust cleared she saw two figures emerge. One was a taller man wearing a dark brown robe and had his long hair tied back. The second man was slightly shorter than the first and wore light brown robes. They walked down the ramp and greeted Padme warmly.

"It's good to see you again senator." The older man said.

"It's good to see you too Master Qui-Gon." She said as they hugged. "And Master Kenobi, It's nice to see you both. Thank you for coming on such short notice." She said.

"It's our please Senator, besides we just a neiboor planet away. So what is it that you need a couple of Jedi's help with?" Asked Obi-Wan.

Padme explained everything to Masters Kenobi and Jinn on their way to the junkyard. Padme knew Anakin would be sleeping at this standard hour and that was good. This would give her the chance to make her move. She led the Jedi's into Anakin small hut where they found him sleeping. She showed them his wounds and the life this innocent man led.

"With all respect Senator, I don't understand what you want us to do." Said Qui-Gon.

Chapter 4


Qui-Gon Jinn was confused as to why the Senator of Naboo had taken such great intrest in a slave she had just met. It was clear thought that already she cared a great deal for him.

"Please Masters." Padme said in a hushed voice so she woulden't wake Anakin. "He does not deserve this life. Just look at him." She pleaded.

Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui-Gon Jinn looked at the sleeping man. It was true, His shirt had blood stains on it and there were angry bruises on his arms and back. He must have taken a great beating earlier for the wounds looked fresh.

"What is it that you want us to do Senator?" Asked Obi-Wan.

"You have the power to free him Masters. I would free him myself but I am in hiding, If anyone found out I was here now every Bounty Hunter int the galaxy would have a field day." She said.

"I understand Padme, But where would he go? Have you thought about any of this?" Qui-Gon asked.

"Yes I have. I dealt with this kind of situation m
