    THE RED KRAYT

    THE BASE SHIP

Terror of the void and predator of all who bear the colors of Imperial or Rebel flags, “The Red Krayt” is a spacebound vessel dedicated to the freedom of its crew and delving into the unknown for new treasures. Once an antique Hammerhead Corvette, the ship has been modified over the years to the point only its captain and first mate know of its original look prior; everything to the sonic refresher has been updated illegally. Such things included reinforced armored hulls, jacked forward shields, ports for fellow pirates to dock their ships to the base, and a few weapons that could get one’s head hung in twelve systems. This will be the home of the Krayt crew, individuals will have to share rooms as multiple bunks or hammocks laid down in each and the galley is in the far back next to the rather meager sonic refresher. Unfortunately, we have yet to gain a bacta-pod but that can be amended in our next adventures.

    Ship Length: 116.7 Meters

    Maximum Speed: 900 mph

    Engine Units: Sublight Engines (4)

Hyperdrive: Class 1, Class 3 (Backup, Illegal Mod)

    Shielding: Deflector

    Sensors: Medium range sensor

    Armaments:

    • (2) Heavy forward mounted quad turbo laser cannons
    • (1) Nose mounted point defense laser cannon turret
    • (2) Dorsal mounted proton torpedo launchers
    • (2)Module mounted solar ionization cannon turrets
    • (1) Quad laser cannon (Mounted below the bridge)

Escape Craft: 5 pods (Sixth was lost in a Sabbac game for new ship upgrades)

Short Bio: Born the youngest son of a noble family of the Tapani Sector, House Barnaba | Wookieepedia | Fandom. Cousin of Lady Varin Arabella | Wookieepedia | Fandom, ruler of House Barnaba. Domenico was given an excellent education and training in the arts of courtly life, but mostly focused himself on reckless excitement. He was far more likely to sneak out of the manor and go racing about on a Cracian thumper than to do his homework. As a teen, he became an accomplished student of lightfoil fencing and earned a reputation as an eager participant in duels to first blood. Other hobbies included racing on all manner of riding beasts, swoops, speeders, and small spacecraft, as well as gambling, games, and carousing. He is also a talented painter, although his favorite subjects for his art are pin up girls. His parents have long since despaired of him ever amounting to anything more than a wastrel and prodigal, but he has older siblings to inherit the leadership of their manor, so they expect very little of him.
His life changed dramatically when in a duel he accidentally killed his opponent, a man from House Melantha | Wookieepedia | Fandom. Realizing he could go to jail for murder, he has run away under the assumed name of Lobo and is thinking vaguely of hiring on with mercenaries.

    Name: Samira
    Age: 28
    Gender: F
    Species: Twi’lek
    Homeworld: Ryloth

Ship Role: Samira is a deck hand who can be sent into tight spaces to spot and help deal with leaks and malfunctioning power-couplings. In times of battle she can detach and ride in her Z-95 to provide fighter support/interference for the Red Krayt.

Planetside Role: Samira has an aptitude for climbing, jumping, and slipping into places where she should not be. She is the crew’s sneak, able to get inside high-security facilities and open doors for the others.

    Appearance:

Personal Equipment/Weapons: DL-18 blaster pistol, vibro-blade, comlink, credit chip
    [IMG]

    Starship: Z-95 Headhunter
    [IMG]

Short Bio: Samira was captured by Trandoshan gangsters and sold as a slave on Nar Shaddaa. There she was forced to serve the Hutts, and learned to hate them utterly. She was sometimes traded between them, or loaned out to visiting Imperial dignitaries, just another “hospitality gift” to help negotiations between the Hutts and the Empire. She finally got a chance to escape, stealing a guard’s blaster pistol and sneaking out into the streets of Nar Shaddaa. She made her way to the starports, knowing her captors would be after her soon. Samira knew she could not trust those in the employ of the Hutts, so sought out an “independent trader” to get off world.

These independent traders turned out to be smugglers and pirates. So began Samira’s career as a pirate.

Hardened by her life experiences, cynical and valuing only freedom, Samira took to this life quickly. She owed nothing to anyone and learned that you only get what you can take. She also admired the democratic process on pirate ships. A captain could only command those who would follow him by choice.

Her first crew disintegrated after several raids depleted their numbers, and Samira moved on to find a new crew to join. Around the Galaxy, the conflict expanded between the Alliance to Restore the Republic and the Galactic Empire. Samira had little interest in politics, and viewed the rebels with suspicion; the Republic had done nothing for her plight, and tacitly stayed out of Hutt affairs. She detests Imperials, though, and secretly roots for the rebels. If it came to a choice, she would rather leave rebel convoys alone and target the Empire instead. Or goods heading for Hutt space.

Samira is a quick learner and picked up skills from different crews over time. She even managed to buy a banged up old Z-95 starfighter, and learned to pilot it. The svelte Twi’lek has stayed in the outer rim, gradually moving away from Hutt space toward the galactic south. She also has a number of bounties out on her.

Her last job was as crew under one Tiam Zerax. The job went bad when their contact also turned out to be working for the planet’s governor, who is a Hutt gangster. Samira was left behind in the scramble to escape. But again, showing her ingenuity and tenacity, she managed to escape and get off world.

She now makes port in Trask, and is looking for work and a crew to join...

    Name: Burg

    Gender: Male
    Species: Dowutin
    Homeworld: Dowut

Ship Role: Ship hand, heavy lifter, discipline-enforcer when needed.
Planetside Role: Mighty soldier both in close combat and with a fearsome rotary repeater blaster for heavy fire support.

    Appearance:

    Personal Equipment/Weapons: Vibro-ax, Z-6 rotary blaster cannon

    Starship: None

Short Bio: Burg grew up on the frigid world of Dowut and learned hunting and survival skills. Like many Dowutin, he found work off-world as a mercenary soldier. He has fought as a tough foot soldier in many battles, including among Confederacy forces during the Clone Wars. This was a lucrative time for Burg and many like him. They could demand high payments. But when the Republic triumphed and quickly transitioned into the Empire, Burg found himself on the wrong side and a fugitive. He was forced underground and instead found work among pirate crews.

Many people might think mercenaries cannot be counted on for their loyalty, but Burg is a professional soldier and takes a long term view. Betraying employers and colleagues only brings a reputation and more difficulty securing work later on. And loyalty works both ways to make a successful team, in his view. Hence once a captain has earned his trust, they will have a loyal and mighty enforcer on their crew...

Since #15 is dorsal turret access, I'm assuming the deck on the right is above the main deck?

There's a turbolift for one floor up hehe. That should be a ladder, Falcon-style.

I can also imagine a lot of those crew bunk rooms being used as secure "storage" rooms, as the ship does not appear to have a hold.

Maybe there's a hold in the deck below the main deck?

EDIT: This image looks like cargo containers can be mounted externally under the belly. Do we have those or are we traveling light?

Hmmm that looks like an integral hold actually. See how it joins with the main superstructure. Those portals would be cargo loading doors.

Maybe there is a lower deck plan we haven’t seen yet?

    *looks suspiciously at the captain*

Those containers aren't there in the pic on post #2 of this thread, and in the post above it looks like retractable hydraulic actuators holding them in place.

No need for suspicions, as the captain of this motley crew, I made sure to include the most "legal" modifications found on the market.

(Truth to be told though, their is two actuators for carrying cargo but due to us not having any swag or cargo crates full of booty, it'll be a while until the actuators see usage. Also, there is no officers quarters as the interior page was an old inside a friend made for a rpg; just imagine the officers rooms as extra rooms for other crew members.)

@T4M1-7 , I LOLed several times at your last post. Maybe Whookiee will debug 1i, but it will probably be more fun to leave it as is for a little while.

Whookiee is about to meet at least two droids that I've got ready to go, maybe a third one that I'm still thinking about.

3 crew droids introduced. I don't think they really need character sheets, but I can do them if y'all want, no trouble. And if you don't like them, they can be sacrificed in the upcoming tumult.

I just rediscovered an old video of me in action on the decks of our portable pirate ship. I'm in my pirate fencing mask and stripey pants. Good times...

I like the droids and they don't need much for character sheets, no worries. (Although that one Astromech is reminding me of a certain character from the Black Sheep series :))

Also, I like your fencing style as a pirate, it's proper sword fighting for a swashbuckler.

That's me on the left, sparring with rubber knives on top of the wing of a C-130 somewhere near the Persian Gulf. Maybe 15-20 foot drop to the concrete. Not the smartest thing I ever did, but at least it wasn't pouring rain.
