I have pored over The Padawan's guide thread, immersed myself in Ferd's tute and others, scoured for as many photographs as possible. This is to be my wedding dress, and I am trying my best to accrue the most information plausible before leaping in to making it. I am a novice seamstress and the LAST thing I want it it to look Home-Ec-y! Thanks, and may the Force be with you
Padawan's guide is a good starting place. This website seems promising: http://tracyscostumingworld.weebly.com/padme-lake-dress.html Higher end material (versus some of the accessories used) should make it look more professional. Some ideas for that can be found here: http://costumesandcouturebykris.blogspot.ca/2010/12/padme-amidala-rainbow-lake-gown.html Another good tutorial I've found is: http://luminousbeingscostumes.blogspot.ca/2011/04/padmes-lake-gown.html Feel free to ask questions, and I (or another one of us...) will try my best to answer them!
Here's a link to the original thread for the dress: http://boards.theforce.net/threads/rainbow-dress.4963143/
I just have to chime in and say the tips from the old pastel gown thread were so helpful! Also, padawnsguide.com has some good info. I mixed all of the photos and advice to come up with my style. Then again, after ten years of researching and making this dress, I'm a little picky on it. Hey, if my client loved her pastel gown for Halloween, I deserve to be so. Lol! Anyway, good luck with your dress and wedding planning! Just out of curiosity, are you doing all white or will you dye it?
