Hi, I registered for this forum in the hopes someone could help answer my question. So thanks in advance for any advice you can provide.

I have a good sized collection of memorabilia, toys, books, cards, comics, etc., that I had as a young boy when I was (and still am) a huge fan of the original Star Wars films. All of these items were the original Kenner, etc stuff from 1977-198x. I probably stopped buying stuff around 1990. So there is nothing from the latter films at all. Some items may be new in original packaging, but virtually everything is very gently used and will be in very good to excellent condition.

    Some examples of items are:

    - Complete AT-AT walker in box (opened)
    - Complete rebel troop transport in box (opened)
    - Ewok village with all the little bits that often go missing
    - Several boxes of figurines (C3PO style box and at least one Darth Vader style box)
    - Miniature cast iron figurines
    - Brand new, in box almost complete set of ceramic figurines, and almost complete set of mugs also brand new in boxes
    - etc., etc., etc.

My question is how would be the best way to liquidate my entire collection? I think selling individual pieces on eBay is out because I do not have enough time to identify each item, price everything individually, and take detailed pics. Are there any other options? Like a service that would do that for me? Or an auction company that specializes in collectibles like this? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Not sure where you are located but it might be worth using an auction company. For example, here in the UK Vectis is well known and runs film/TV related auctions. However I don't know if they'd just do toys or if they'd do the entire collection And of course they'd take a cut of the sale price. Your best bet might actually be to ask on our sister site Rebelscum as they are more collecting-oriented.

Hey, thanks for the quick reply. I’m in the States.

Yes, I’d be interested in selling the whole collection, not just the toys. I know I’d lose some of the profit In fees. It’s probably worth the convenience if it’s not exorbitant. And frankly, there’s more than just the Star Wars stuff. I have the entire first series of Garbage Pail Kids, for example. Someone else can get enjoyment from the stuff that’s just sitting in boxes and taking up space in my place.

I’ll check out Rebelscum. I had no idea it existed. Great tip and the idea on Vectis. I’ll see if they do stuff here too.

Try Googling on the name of your closest large city and 'auction houses'. And go over to Rebelscum - it's free to register.

I have seen people sell entire collections in one shot on Rebelscum.com before. You have to be prepared to lose some monetary value if you sell in one large collection, especially if you are not going to describe each item. If someone doesn’t know for sure exactly what they are getting they are going to be less likely to offer what you would probably want though. Kind of the nature of the beast.

I checked out Rebelscum. It definitely looks like the better spot for me to sell my stuff. Unfortunately the mods haven’t enabled my account yet, so I still can’t post anything. Let’s hope they take care of that soon.

I try to do them here within 24 hours. Not sure what turnaround time they have there. (If I'm online when people register then I do them right away.). It could be that only admins can do it and I'm not sure how many they have over there.

You could also reach out to some reputable toy stores. Order66 in Texas buys whole SW collections.

Brian's Toys will buy as well - I believe it's just toys though. Not sure how good a price you'd get but the link is to a page to get a quote.
