Better piolot Kyp Durron, Jagged Fel, or Jaina Solo?

I wonder who is the better piolot in your opinion Kyp, Jagged, or Jaina. I think Jagged is the better piolot so far.

 

Hard to say. Kyp has done the more dangerous things and lived, plus has an ally in the force, so I would say him overall.

But were we speaking on pure piloting, as in navigating a course, I'd say Jaina

 

I don't know if he's actually the best pilot or not (IMO, it's Kyp) but Jag certainly does have an inflated opinion of how well he flys.

Well, it has been established that Jag is better than Jaina, at least on a one-on-one duel. Kyp has never been that great of a pilot (only his force powers keep him from mediocrity), so I think Jag is the best of the bunch.

 

Although Kyp is one of my favourite charachters I don't think he's really a natural pilot. He's adapted well to flying through hard work and his very strong force abilities. Both Jaina and Jag have far more natural piloting abilities. I'd say that Jag edges it from Jaina because of his experience and his more hardened attitude.

I'd say either Jaina or Kyp. Jag seems to be implied that he is the best pilot but I haven't seen him do anything too outstanding.

But for my overall bet, I'll go Jaina.

 

Sorry to contradict you, DarthKarde, but Kyp is very much a natural flier. Read the Jedi Academy trilogy for that. Jaina, too, is naturally a pilot, the scene where she flies through the asteriod field early in the NJO is just the first showing of her natural ability. (She's good in the YJK series, but you don't really have anything to gauge her performance against in those books)

Between the two of them I think Jaina is by far the better pilot, but Kyp's control over the raw power of the force allows him to do many things that others can't do in a one-man fighter. But when you throw Zag into the mix, i think he is the best pilot. His reactions are impeccable, this was made apparent quietly in RS and RD, and look at his dad. But because he cannot touch the force, he can't do some of the things that Jaina and Kyp can do. It just depends on what your criteria is i guess. If you want the Force in the mix, Kyp is the best. If you leave it out entirely, Zag beats them all. And with the two mixed, Jaina is the most rounded.

Comparatively, RF.

Kyp is a good pilot; I?ll never say otherwise. He?s a bad strategist/tactician, but that says little about his piloting abilities.

However, compared to Jaina and Jag, he?s simply in a lower league. He?s still a good pilot?much better than average?but he?s just not as good as Jaina.

I don't think that anyone has said kyp is bad pilot. He is clearly a good pilot and has intergrated force skills and piloting better than any other Jedi, that includes Darth Vader. However he admitted to himself in VP that Jaina was a better pilot, that he couldn't beat her score on Lando's asteriod course (I don't remember the name)

Nothing in the JAT convinces me that Kyp is a natural pilot. There's a lot, even in the early parts that convinces me that he has a massive ammount of force poetential and he puts this to good use when he flies

 

Ya know I would be willing to bet Jaina is #1, but something mentioned when Jaina, Jag, and Kyp are devising their new way to attack the Yuuzhan vong sticks in my head. Jaina and Kyp who can sense where one another will fire, shoot within moments of each other, but Jagged who has no force link to either of them picks the same target within a time which is worthy of a jedi. So its tough to pick a number one when you can make debates for each of them.

I think it is Jag. IIRC, in Dark tide 2, Jag routinely smoked Jaina's butt. In that book, I don't think Jaina managed to take Jag down. Only Wedge and Tycho managed to do that.

Granted with all the warfare, it would be an interesting match now between the two of them.

 

I think Jag is the best out of the three. It would seem that he'd be at a distinct disadvantage flying against Jedi without the Force yet he still manages to smoke Jaina every time in Ruin. And in Rebel Dream and Rebel Stand he always manages to hit the targets Jaina and Kyp pick without even knowing what targets they have chosen.

Jagged is the better pilot. Jaina is good still, but she has the force and Jag doesn't, and Jag can fly extremly well without it. Kyp uses the forse a lot when he flies too. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I would say that flying through the Maw without any pilot or force training at all makes Kyp a natural pilot. You could argue that it was force assisted, which it was. But we saw from the JAT that doing things with the force, like flying, came naturally for him.

 

Does anybody else see that we're arguing over who is the better shot, not the better pilot? They seem like different things to me. . .

part of piloting includes shooting if we are debating who is the best fighter pilot. I was using it though to point out someone who did not have force powers could hang with two jedi and do what they were doing.

 

Kyp has a natural skill with the Force, Face. That doesn?t necessarily mean that he has a natural skill as a pilot.

Personally, I think Kyp has as much natural piloting skill as Anakin or Jacen does. Now don?t get me wrong, Anakin and Jacen have a sizable amount of natural skill of their own (at the age of 9 Jacen was out flying people in the Falcon), but I think we can all agree that Jaina has more natural piloting skill then Anakin or Jacen.
