Is the Bulwark Battlecruiser canon? It was the largest ship the Rebels could build in Rebellion and it was the size, if not bigger than an SSD. . . but what size SSD? :p

The largest Rebel ship constructed, I believe, by the Mon Calamari is a Star Defender.

Though Bulwarks are pretty big too.

The Bulwark is bigger than the MC-80, I'm not sure if ites bigger than the Star Defender though. But my credits are on the Bulwark as being the biggest Rebel/New Republic ship, or perhaps the 2nd biggest, under the Star Defender.

    That's not what he asked.

He asked the biggest ship to come out of Mon Calamari.

All of these word games are confusing me! :p

Then, I agree. The MC-80 would indeed be the biggest Mon Cal ship that the Rebels fielded.

Off topic: What shipyard produced the Bulwark anyways?

Many people (myself included) believe the Home One to be in the 3km + range.

The Bulwark would still dwarf it, but since nothing is sized very well in Rebellion, it's hard to say by how much.

What evidence is there that the Home One was anything special, other than Ackbar's flagship?

The Bulwark was a refitted liner, wasn't it?

And the Startide, which appears in Anderson's trilogy? I believe it was one of the biggest rebel ship... even if it was destroy before the battle.

Home One and its sister ships that appeared in ROTJ are the largest Mon Calamari cruisers, measuring approximately 3.8 kilometers in length.

When was Mon Remonda constructed? I believe it was the largest in it's day.

Mon Remonda and the rest of the MC80B line began seeing service around six months after the Battle of Endor. However, they were not the largest Mon Cal ships of their day. Home One and its sisters are all over three times as large as the Mon Remonda.

Home One was an MC80, which is 1,200 meters in length. For it to be over three times the size of Mon Remonda, the later would have to be under 400 meters in size. One slight problem, Mon Remonda and other MC80Bs are 1,200 meters in length. They are basically upgraded MC80s.

Home One was quite different from an MC-80. Apart from its shape (pickled instead of winged) it also served a different purpose, had different hangars, carried a different number of fighters, had a different crew size, different engine arrangement, different weapon systems, different length...basically, they're not the same ship at all. The Home One was NOT an MC-80, it was an MC-80a, which is a differnt class entirely. CUSWE also claims that the MC-80a was the largest ship in the Rebel Fleet as of Endor, so even if the Bulwark is larger, the MC-80a would take the top spot for Mon Calamari pre-Endor.

If you check the EGtVaV, the NEGtVaV, and the OS you'll find all say it is a MC80.

I know. But the question had already been answered satisfactorily. Just adding something to the discussion.

The Home One was indeed a MC-80... modified, yes, but still an MC-80. The Liberty was an MC-80a.

MC-80 class Star Cruisers are 1200 meters long and house 3 squadrons of fighter support.

MC-80a class Star Cruisers are 1200 meters long and house 6 fighter squadrons.

MC-80b class Star Cruisers are 1200 meters long and house 8 fighter squadrons.

MC-90 class Star Cruisers are 1255 meters long and house 6 squadrons.

Home One was 3200 meters long and housed ten fighter squadrons. Generally, it seems to be referred to as its own distinct class. Essential Guide to Vehicles and Vessels devotes a page solely to the Home One and another page to MC-80 class Cruisers.

Of the MC-class Star Cruisers, Home One was largest.

    Jes

EDIT: Role-playing guides also reference a Mon Calamari Super Cruiser, which is supposed to be 7500 meters long and house 12 squadrons of fighter support.

The thread is asking for largest REBEL ship, which would mean before they germinated into the New Rep, right?

Therefore, it's probably the Bulwark battle cruiser. Google searching can't agree on a diameter; several say over 3km.

N/EGVVs say Home One is 1200m, but that's debatable.
