Lit Biggest unsolved mysteries in Legends or Canon?

What are some of your favorite mysteries in Star Wars? I’m not looking for stuff like “What were the Rakatan wars like” (historical mystery in that universe) I’m looking for more out of universe plot points or things that were never resolved.

Who or what is the Bendu?

 

- Who bribed Subtext Mining to program the mining droid to assassinate Rugess Nome and Hego Damask?

- When was the Trayus Academy built and when was it abandoned?

- What happened to the Je'daii?

- Who were Kreia, Nihulus, and Sion?

- What is Revan's real name?

Who were the five Admirals in Darth Vader Strikes? Sure we see them but later legends works never bothered to name them.

Oh and what the hell was the Jaden Korr books trying to set up?

 

What happened to the Intimidator/Pride Of Yevetha after the events of BFC? How did she turn into a drifting wreck?

 

While I'm not the biggest fan of making them the catch-all Unknown Regions Threat in general, given that TEC ends with other NJO setup, I always sort of assumed it ran into an early Vong scouting foray.

 

I'm curious if Ni Spaar could have somehow survived being shot into hyperspace in an escape pod and got pulled back into real space by some force.

 

Canon - What happened to Han and Leia on Ord Mantell, and who was the bounty hunter?

 

Maybe he somehow ended up in Otherspace and found by the Charon, whom he of course hated.

 

How did Natasi Daala keep failing up?

 

I am genuinely surprised to hear that this has not yet been covered anywhere. I get the desire to avoid another case of six different bounty hunter encounters on Ord Mantell, but there is such a thing as overcompensation.

 

Was it ever revealed who the woman who “lights a candle against the Darkness” at the end of FOTJ was?

 

What happened to Chief Okko and the other Ysanna leaders after the events of Empire's End? Are they still frozen in carbonite? Maybe in a museum somewhere?

EDIT: The Ord Mantell situation became ridiculous in Legends, but for me, Skorr will always be the bounty hunter on Ord Mantell. Him and his sidekick, Gribbet.

 

Why doesn't Lumiya have the Oracle Stone or Adas's Holocron in LOTF?

How was Marka Ragnos "the reigning Dark Lord of the Sith" after he died?

What prophecy was Naga Sadow afraid of?

Did Bane take over Zannah body or not? the ending of the novel Dynasty of Evil is too ambiguous

Why were a group of blind Jedi like the Miraluka so important to the Jedi Order during the Old Republic in Legends?

 

That one's got a flat-out authorial statement as a 'no'. She just absorbed something of his qualities.

(Which actually winds up working rather nicely with the new canon's "I am all the Sith.")

I feel like these are the biggest ones mentioned so far, the others are less "mysteries" and more "it would be interesting trivia / it would interest me to elaborate on."

It definitely seem to be hinted that Palpatine perhaps did tne sabotage... while also unlikely since he's just a teen on faraway Naboo, and probably shouldn't have figured out the Sith's deepest secret so quickly? It would also make him too much of an antichrist figure, he'd have to be literally possessed by someone/something to make that work. But there's really not that many other suspects. Also - how much was Palpatine bluffing as he electrocuted Plagueis at the end?

The TFU2 one is less interesting (since it probably should never have happened unless it was a trick by Vader) but it was a true dangling plot point.


It is probably good that I can't think of too many others right now, at least beyond more stories I wanted or really small details that might not interest others - post NJO/Legacy ideas, the story of Darth Ruin, a proper ending to DotJ and Agent of the Empire, more Naboo and Qui-gon/Padme/Dooku, Darth Gravid and his apprentice and other Sith around that time, the rise of the Republic, more on what the Jedi did in the 18,000 years between the Republic founding and the beginning of the Sith with the Hundred-Year Darkness around 7000BBY. Stuff like that. It does seem like they were trying to wrap up a lot of loose ends just in the couple years before Disney and the reset (from Lumiya and Callista to finally an image of Cal Omas!)

 

For Legends I think the big ones were more about were existing storylines would go next, and what would become of characters such as Luke, etc. Or if you are a bit of a Fleet Junkie, you may want to know about specific ships that lack background information. I can think of a few more interesting ones however:

• What happened with the whole Carbonite Sith Army thing?
• What happened to the various Sith characters from Legacy? Did they die off screen? And to follow up, is that the Sith over, or is the Jedi/Sith thing just a war that will continue forever?
• What were the Celestials (other than the few that ended up in Mortis)? While we are at it, I think there were a lot weird entities folks wanted to know more about like Mnggal-Mnggal and Waru; or perhaps how things like Otherspace fits into the cosmology.
• What became of the remaining Inquisitors such Tremayne and the Inquisitorius itself? I think there are quick a few characters that’s fates are quite interesting, since the last we heard from them (in Galactic time) was some decades ago.
• How did the Imperial remnant gain enough power again to be able to eventually make a comeback and beat the GFFA a century later?

And personally I want to know what happened with Jerek's forces after Kyle Katarn beat him. I mean what were they doing while Katarn was chilling in the Valley of the Jedi and making statues? Personally I think they would have been having some very funny conversations on whether or not to check of their boss is alive
