I just read this on retrojunk.com:

"This episode is "The Race to the Finish" and starts with C3PO, R2D2, Thall Jobin, Kea Moll, and Jord Dusat as they travel to the Boonta Eve speeder race..."

    Wow, is that true?

Wow, I'd be really surprised if it was. But in a way it would be sorta cool.

    well from TV Tome:

"4. A Race to the Finish

While on their way to the 'Botha Speeder Race' our group of friends come under attack by the Fromms but Artoo succeeds in fixing the external hyperdrive and they escape through hyperspace in the nick of time. Their ship's landing gears are damaged from the attack however, and they have to make a crash landing. Upon landing C-3PO and R2-D2 meet PROTO-1, an old service droid, who informs them the group he'll repair their ship for them while they go in the races. Threepio, however, does not trust him.
Elsewhere, the Fromms have landed on the same planet and Sise has acquired the help of the notorious bounty hunter, Boba Fett, to capture the group who destroyed his base and his expensive weapon - the Trigon One.

Meanwhile, Jord - who was injured during the landing - finds himself unable to drive the "White Witch" in the race due to a broken arm, therefore Thall will have to compete. C-3PO, with the assistance of his new friend - a droid named BL-17 - solves the other problem by finding a repair room for Thall to prepare the "Witch" for competition. Tig Fromm and Vlix, in the meantime, are planning to beat Boba Fett to the punch and regaining the respect from their boss, Sise.

While Eya and Thall repair the witch we discover that BL-17 is in fact working for Fromm. After attempting to sabotage the "Witch", the droid is confronted by PROTO-1 who attempts to stop him. Here Threepio learns who his real friends are when Artoo comes to the rescue. Their troubles are not over though as Boba Fett arrives and attacks the group. Thall and Artoo manages to escape in the "Witch" in time for the race but not before Tig and Vlix have planted a thermal detonator in the speeder. PROTO-1 witnessed the incident and informs Eya and Threepio - "it will explode after 10 laps".

Thall and Artoo make it just in time for the commencement of the speeder race but they are closely pursued by Boba Fett aboard his own speeder. The bounty hunter attempts every trick in the book to stop them. On the tenth lap however, the thermal detonator is dislodged accidentally by Fett who now finds his own speeder in jeopardy. As he escapes, Thalls wins the speeder race.

As Thall is greeted by his friends, the president of a speeder design company - named Zebulon Dak - offers Thall and Jord a job of making speeders. They consent immediately.

Later that evening they are once again approached by the Fromms but PROTO-1 comes to their aide and while Sise, Tig and Vlix attempt to retreat they are captured by Boba Fett who, displeased with the loss of his speeder and droid, has decided to turn them over to Jabba the Hutt.

The Droids farewell PROTO-1 and together with their masters, head off in their ship for a meeting with Zebulon on another world. During the flight Artoo taps into the intercom and overhears Jord, Thall and Eya discuss that Zebulon will not allow the droids to work with them. The three have therefore decided not to take the job to be loyal to their mechanical friends. Threepio and Artoo decide there can be only one thing to do - they climb into an escape pod and leave the ship as it goes into hyperspace.

Yeah its true I have that episode on VHS too. They mention the moons of bogden in AOTC, which also featured in a Droids episode. I wonder what Droids references if any make it into ROTS.
