..okay, what the heck happened to him?

I've just begun reading the X-Wing series (finally!)...

I'm 15 pages into the second book, and it's just been stated that Jace is DEAD..

When the heck did this happen?

As far as i can remember, the guy was STILL ALIVE at the end of "Rogue Squadron"...

    Did i miss something?

What in the name of Wicket W. Warrick happened to him?

Didn't the event that Drew is referring to occur in a Rogue Squad comic? I haven't read the comics, but I heard somewhere that there was a comic that took place between Rogue Squad and Wedge's Gamble that showed what happened to Bror. I might be wrong though.

    Shhhh!!

    You're wrong! I can't go into details, but you're wrong. Don't press the issue. You're wrong. :p

Besides, the comics take place years before the books, not during them.

I worded that quite carefully not to give away that...ooo, almost messed up. :p Oh, well, I thought for sure there was an issue in between those two books. Oh, well, sorry for my error.

I thought that Bror Jace was killed at the end of Rogue Squadron by an ambush as he was going home to Thyferra.

It's clearly written at the end of Rogue Squadron that Isard plans to ambush Bror on his trip to Thyferra, so it's not a secret or anything.

I do not believe that the poster of this thread has gotten to the end of Rogue Squadron yet.

uh...he says that he has, so i dont understand his problem.

Drew_Atreides: Just read the Epilogue of Rogue Squadron, it says what you want to know.

LotS: Actually, when he started the thread not too long ago, he was fifteen pages into the second book. He's far from done with the series.

But, at 15 pages into the second book, it is assumed that he has read the first book. In the first book, Isard says she plans to ambush Jace, right? So they aren't really spoiling him...

Rogue_Ten: Yeah, i know he's far from the end, but thats not what i was saying. Drew_Atreides implied he had finished Rogue Squadron, which means he should know what happened to Bror. It says what happens in the Epilogue.

We're trying to avoid spoiling later parts of the series. I will say no more on the subject.

Exactly. But the reader should have already read what Bror's immediate state is (which is in the first book), it has nothing to do with what happens later.

How is it a spoiler if the person has read the book that we are talking about? He just probably skipped the Epilogue, and i was simply telling him to go back to it.

...hmm, yes i do remember Isard stating she planned on ambushing Bror..

I guess i figured we'd actually get to SEE Jace get blown away, know what i mean? Figured that Book 2 would begin with Jace being ambushed or something....

Seeing as how he was supposed to be Rogue Squadron's Val Kilmer to Corran Horn's Tom Cruise, i figured he'd deserve an actual death scene.. Pilot that good being taken down by a squadron of imperials would make for some good readin'...

The spoiler tag is not needed. However, because Drew actually states X-wing series spoilers, and states he would like to know, there is nothing wrong with spoiling him. If he didn't want to be spoiled, why would he be asking in the first place. Jace is alive and well at the end of the Rogue Squadron quartet of the series. Without going into the details (PM me if you want to know them), due to the fact that some folks in here don't want to post spoilers despite the fact that you've asked for them, Jace will show up again in The Bacta War and explain everything.
