Cade Skywalker's lightsaber

On the advice of many members here i've started reading LEGACY in graphic noval format.
At the end of volume 1 Cade picks up the blue lightsaber of Emperor Fel's daughter.
However, but the time of volume 2, 'Ghosts' Cade is now using a GREEN lightsaber.

I understand he would have given back the blue lightsaber, but where did he get the green one from?
Was this told in a story not collected in the graphic novels for some reason?

 

IIRC, he's using Kol Skywalker's lightsaber (which itself is powered by a Yuuzhan Vong lambent crystal).

 

but then again..Kol's lightsaber was originally BLUE!!! when it was "captured by Krayt" (Claws of the Dragon) then it changed to green.. i have always wondered about this discrepancy!!

What discrepancy? Originally it was blue, then when Nei Rin gave Cade the lightsaber they replaced the crystal with a lambent crystal and it has been green ever since.

 

So this all happened outside the novels - in the single issue comics?

 

I know that when Nei Rin gave Cade the saber they put a new crystal in..I'm talking about the one that was in Darth Krayt's Chamber..

when Cade was captured they took away his lightsaber(the one Nei Rin gave him)...the one that was in transaparent steel when Krayt revealed himself as A'Shared Hett was a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT SABER!!

this happened on issue 12(Keeper of the Jedi Secrets) & during CLAWS OF THE DRAGON (issue 15-19)

Alright, no. You guys seem to be confusing TheNewEmpire.

Cade used Sia's blue lightsaber in Broken, which he probably returned to her like TNE said. The lightsaber he used on Ossus when he was sparring with Shado was probably given to him by K'Kruhk or Wolf, it wasn't his lightsaber as far as I can tell. This one, by the way, is not Kol's lightsaber. That one is given to Cade at the end of Ghosts, Part 2. That's all you need to know, TNE.

Now, the lightsaber Nei Rin gives Cade at the end of the aforementioned issue is Kol's. It was originally blue, but Nei Rin replaced the crystal with a lambent and gave it to Cade, turning it green. This is the same lightsaber that is in Krayt's display case as far as I can tell. Remember, Cade gets captured by the Sith while he is in possession of Kol's saber, so it follows that the saber was taken as well and given to Krayt, which is how it ends up in the display case in Claws of the Dragon.

Issue #12 (Ghosts 2): "The Crystal within was charred from the intensity of the battle. I added a lambent crystal of my own shaping. Your Father's lightsaber." - Nei Rin

Issue #15 (Dragon 2) - "And yet I honor them. Your Father's lightsaber - encased in transparisteel and given a place of honor to mark a fallen, but esteemed foe." - Darth Krayt

So in both issues, the person in possession of the lightsaber clearly states that it is Kol Skywalker's saber. Sequence of events is....Kol is killed. Nei Rin recovers lightsaber. Nei Rin replaces the crystal with a lambent crystal. Nei Rin gives saber to Cade. Cade breaks into the Sith Temple carrying said weapon. Cade is capture by the Sith. (I'm extrapolating a bit here, as this part wasn't explicitly stated) Krayt takes away Cade's lightsaber because, well, he is a prisoner. Cade is given a red Sith lightsaber while he trains under Darth Talon. Cade tries to run away but gets caught. Cade busts the transparisteel apart and once again takes up his father's weapon.

The only thing I can see as confusing is wondering how Krayt knew that this was in fact Kol's lightsaber. Perhaps Krayt (maybe Nihl, as we know that Nihl encountered Kol) could sense echos of Kol Skywalker on it. Perhaps Kol's earlier exploits made the saber recognizable by anyone paying attention to such things in the way that Ki-Adi Mundi knew Sharad Hett's blade when he saw it. (Republic issue #7, Outlander "Any Jedi born within the last 30 years would know that weapon!") Perhaps Cade revealed it to Maladi during one of the death stick dosing sessions. Perhaps he simply took a guess that it was his father's blade.

One thing is for sure....it is the same blade. The lambent crystal changed it from Blue to Green.

 

Ah, but no!
Because - as the story starts, (Ghosts 1 i think)Cade is hallucinating in the temple on Ossus, wacked out on death sticks, when he battles Vader with a green lightsaber.
K'Kruhk turns up in the snow storm and heals cade. But from that point on, Cade is still using the same green lightsaber he had in the dream!

So where did THAT green lightsaber come from?

 

I have a feeling that green one is Cade's. He built it me-thinks. The hilt of his red lightsaber when he's with the Sith on Coruscant is the same as that green one if I remember correctly. And when he busts Kol's lightsaber at of the display case in Krayt's chambers the blade is blue, as I recall.

 

That also confused me at first, but if you look at the hilt he had in his hallucination and the hilt he's using against Shado, they're completely different. In fact, the one he's using in the hallucination looks more like Kol's lightsaber. I was just under the impression that that lightsaber was also a hallucination. Anyway, whatever lightsaber he's using in that sparring session, I have no idea where it came from. Maybe he built it, or maybe one of the Masters gave it to him. I personally think it's the latter. Cade goes back to Ossus, the Masters agree to train him again, so it makes sense that they would give him a lightsaber to train with. We never see it prior to his hallucination or in the time between his hallucination and the sparring session. It resembles Wolf's lightsaber, but it also kind of looks like the one Cade used as a kid (although that blade was blue). I guess we'll never know.

Nope, it's green.

 

Well, that can't be right either. Cade has the green lightsaber after the dream, but BEFORE the masters show up. The only thing i can think of is that he found it at the temple. Somehow the Sith and pirates missed it...

 

What panel? I've been searching all through the comic and haven't seen him with that lightsaber outside of the dream. We see him lying on the ground after a nice deathstick session, then we get the hallucinations where he uses the lightsaber, and then the Masters show up right after that. After that, it jumps forward "two weeks later" and we see the sparring session with Cade and Shado.

The saber in the hallucination is just that: a hallucination.

The green one he's using later in issue #11 while training with Shado is a loaner or maybe even one that he made in the two weeks that he was at the Jedi Temple.

Nei Rin gives him Kol's green saber at the end of issue #12 and that's the one he uses from then on.
