    Lets show off our costumes!!!!!!!

    My Costume

    As approved by surlygirlie

    There are lots of costuming groups out there. The Jedi Assembly which deals with Jedi, The Rebel Legion which deals will all Rebel Alliance, Smuggler, and Jedi costumes. And then there is the 501st. Now while the 501st does have a section for Sith, they are primarily Stormtroopers and everyone knows that.

    What I am doing is starting a group that is Sith and Dark side User exclusive. I already have the domain name and web space and am currently working with a program called ContentXpress, which is a newer version of PHP Nuke. This groups is for Sith and Darkside User costumers.

    What I am trying to do is reach out to the Star Wars forums and groups and contact all users that have Sith and Dark side User costumes and see if this is something they would be interested in.

    So if you are interested or just want to know more please feel free to PM me or send me an email at force_generations@yahoo.com

    Thank you

    hello,

    My Asajj Ventress costume is in the works right now.

    liannb and geekgirl from Edmonton Fanforce are making this costume for me to wear to Celebration III.

    This link is the first two costume fittings of the Asajj Ventress costume, on myself. The neck piece, gauntlets and the belt are still needed to be made... and are in the works. They are being made of a PVC (pleather material).

    ... and I have to get a bald cap of course!

    enjoy!

    I'm making a costume based on the Shadow Trooper from Jedi Outcast. (Shadow Troopers have a force crystal in their chestplate armor that focuses the Force and gives them sith abilities.) Here are some screen captures from the game as well as my costume so far. I still need to get a few pieces of the stormtrooper armor that this costume uses and paint it black, add the crystal, and then just make my saber. (Already have the plans for it.)

    Here's one up close screen cap of a Shadow Trooper:
    [image=http://jedioutcast.theforce.ru/i/forum/YaBBImages/avatars/jk2_shadowtrooper.gif]

    And here's my preliminary take on it:
    [image=http://img78.photobucket.com/albums/v253/HanJones/shadow_trooper_closeup.jpg]

    More screen caps from the game:
    [image=http://www.asjn.myby.co.uk/images/ShadowTrooperConvention.jpg]

    [image=http://www.gamenavigator.ru/games/chtivo/jk2/125.jpg]

    And more of me as a Shadow Trooper:
    [image=http://img78.photobucket.com/albums/v253/HanJones/shadow_trooper_fullbody1.jpg]

    [image=http://img78.photobucket.com/albums/v253/HanJones/shadow_trooper_fullbody2.jpg]

    [image=http://img78.photobucket.com/albums/v253/HanJones/shadow_trooper_fullbody3.jpg]

    For some reason, the thumbnails here are all the same size, so in order to get the real effect of the costume, you have to click on each one. Otherwise I look short and fat when I'm actually 6' and 165 lbs. :)

    Great idea for a group like this. I've actually been stalled on this costume for a few months, but this gives me the impetus to get back to working on it to finish it.

    What an awesome idea jediknight!! so are you a Jedi or Sith???

    Anyway, I would LOVE to be a part of this group! I have a Darth Vader costume, and would be happy to post pics as soon as take new ones, and figure out how to post them...not sure on that. Otherwise, count me in!!

    By the way...if any of you Dark Siders are going to C3, maybe we could figure out a time and place to meet, and get a big group picture!! That would be AWESOME!! Let me know if this could be arranged!!

    Although it's not the traditional black, this is my costume for a Dark Jedi. I based it off the "Vader-esque" concept art for Anakin from AOTC

    Art:

    Costume:

    [image=http://img146.exs.cx/img146/2148/kanecostumefront9ho.jpg]

    Edit: This is one of the Sith cloaks I've got. I'm imitating "Darth Kimball", the fake Sith Lord from the months leading up to AOTC:

    Yes I am aware that the 501st has made a Sith group, But the only differance between the one I am making and the one they have is this:

    You can only have a Cannon Costume for the 501st, while my group will be Cannon and Non Cannon.

    I already have the domain name and webspace and am currently working on the layout for the site. I already have 12 costumed members from all over.

    You could say my site is going to be a sister site to the JediAssembly, while they are exclusivly Jedi, I am exclusivly Sith and Darkside User.

    Dont worry about pics, If you have them email them to me and I will host them for you. If you do not have a costume that is not a problem. there will be an allowed time limit from the day of joining the site that you would have to have one completed.

    So no worries on that aspect.

    OK I'm the Maul pictured in Fenigdurak's post and being the brother to a squad XO for the 501st must say that you DON'T have to be canon to be a member of the 501st! Nor do you have to have a canon costume in order to participate in events! I myself have participated in several events while dressed as a non-canon Sith Lord. Even at book signings and have not had any problems!

    Here is the officail Charter on costumes for the 501st

    501st Costuming Charter

    FORMAL/CANON - Costumes must be authentic, canon Imperial costumes from the movies or licensed media (games, books, etc.). Costumes must be devoid of stickers, ornamentation, or any other decoration not found on the original costumes. Costumes must be complete, containing all the parts in good working order and appearance. If a member has a question whether his or her costume meets the specifications of a formal costume, they may refer to information provided by the 501st Chief Armorer. Formal events include any event involving Lucasfilm and its affiliates or any other event where formal presentation is expressly asked for or required. An example of this would be escorting celebrities associated with Star Wars - this is considered an official event and calls for the group to represent the club in formal dress, unless the event organizer has specified that non-formal costumes are acceptable.

    INFORMAL/NON-CANON - Costumes may be authentic, canon costumes or non-authentic, non-canon costumes never seen in any Star Wars movie or book and may be decorated and ornamented as the owner desires, within the confines of decency. Decency here is defined as being without profane or vulgar features or statements and must be viewable by young children. Costumes can be painted alternate color schemes, adorned with stickers or cosmetic changes, or supplemented with articles not found in the movies. Informal events include public parties or conventions or wherever the 501st is not officially representing the club.

    So yes you can have a Non-Cannon costume in the 501st, but you cant wear it anywhere if its a 501st event(States in INFORMAL/NON CANNON:Informal events include public parties or conventions or wherever the 501st is not officially representing the club.

    And thats great that you havnt had any problems with wearing your Non-Cannon costume, but you just said it yourself, your Brother is the XO of the Garrison.

    I myself have experienced problems with my Garrison and can't do so with them.

    I would rather be able to wear a costume and be considered part of the group at all times, then have to have seperate costumes for seperate events. Which is why I am making this group.

    Just my $.02 in return.

    I'm sorry that your Garrison won't let you but from what I've heard it's not just my Garrison that will let you wear non-canon/informal costumes. I've heard of several other Garrisons that will allow you to do so. I'm sorry that your Garrison will not allow you to do so and in my humble opinion I think that is very uncool of them and I think that that is very unfair to you and I'm sure there are others in your group who have "non-canon and informal" costumes and I, again in my humble opinion think that it's not right that they don't allow you to wear the costumes that I'm sure you have all worked very hard on.

    I know there are a ton of custom troopers, bounty hunters and many others that no one really seems to care about when they show up and the rule seems to bend for them.

    I'm not trying to step on your toes or anything, believe me, I'm just saying that not every Garrison is that way and I see your reason for wanting to start this group.

    I'm sorry that your Garrison apparently doesn't see it that way and I feel bad for you and the other members of your Garrison who have invested time and money in your custom costumes and are not allowed to wear them for some weird reason.

    I don't get to do it just because I'm the brother of a SQUAD XO either. Most of us have done several times and it has been done by members of all three squads. I guess I'm just lucky to be in a Garrison that is very cool about this sort of thing and really appreciate the hard work that can go into a custom costume.

    Again I'm not trying to step on anyone's toes I'm just trying to show that there are many Garrisons of the 501st that do accept these costumes more readily than others.
