Can Jedi Sense Droids through the force?

Okay, I haven't read far past Zahn's Trilogy (Heir, Dark Force, and Last Command) so I was wondering if anyone sorted this out, Droids are not organic, so are they affected by Midi-c's?

 

I'm not entirely sure, but I don't think so.

 

A Force-user doesn't need to detect them through midi-chlorians. He/she can just sense the aura of their electrical systems and components.

 

They cannot control them through the force though. Only Irek is/was capable of that because of electronic implants. Jedi can mess with the inner workings of droids, as we see in the TotJ comic series. And of course blaster bolts coming from a droid are not more hard to block than those coming from an organic, as we see in TPM and AotC.

 

Well, I would think that in the way that Jedi can manipulate nonliving (usually inanimate) objects such as rocks and stuff, that they can move Droids around, using the Force, through "telekinesis".

 

Yes. In TotJ the Jedi used the Force to take the 'life' right out of the battle droids attacking them by destroying their internal motors with the Force. Most current Jedi veiw this as Dark Side work because it is to similar to destroying a biological's internal organs.

This is why we don't see the Jedi in the prequel trilogy using the Force to shut down droids. They deem it okay to walk up to the droids and slice 'em in half, or to use the Force to knock 'em around a bit. But they don't think it okay to just turn them off. But who are we to complain? It looks cooler the way they do it.
