The only movie I can think of that has more great quotes than Blazing Saddles is
Young Frankenstein.

By the way, both movies have held up EXTREMELY well over the years.

One of the funniest lines in a film filled with funny lines:
"Piss on you, I'm working for Mel Brooks!"

I'm quite annoyed the "Mongo only pawn in game of life" line has already been posted,
Mr. Sterling.

 

Sadly, so few of my favorite lines are quotable here. You just would NOT be able to make a movie like this today.

 

Well, it got so that every piss-ant prairie punk who thought he could shoot a gun would ride into town to try out the Waco Kid. I must have killed more men than Cecil B. DeMille. It got pretty gritty. I started to hear the word "draw" in my sleep. Then one day, I was just walking down the street when I heard a voice behind me say, "Reach for it, mister!" I spun around... and there I was, face-to-face with a six-year old kid. Well, I just threw my guns down and walked away. Little bastard shot me in the ass. So I limped to the nearest saloon, crawled inside a whiskey bottle, and I've been there ever since.

 

Sorry about that, JWD.

The end of "Saddles" gets really weird as the characters start acknowledging they are in fact in a Mel Brooks movie and the films breaks out into the studio to the point that the two main characters seek out a movie theater so they can see how the film ends.

 

Then proceed to watch themselves ride (in a limo) into the sunset.

 

Where are all the white women at?

Love this film. When it was in the cinema I was a projectionist at a different theater and I knew the projectionist at the theater showing this. I'd leave my job around 11pm after our last show and go over to his theater to catch the late show for free from the projection booth there. I must have seen it around 30 times and paid once.
