I know Ryan has the GL-1 (PAL version = XM1?). Also, I talk to NXTB via AIM.. and he has a GL-2... so I'll link him to this thread later when he gets on.

    Cannon DM XM2

I noticed on the specs that whilst this cam has 3 CCD's it only has 470k pix.
Whereas my Pansonic NV27B has 800k pix, but only 1 CCD.
How much difference would there likely to be in quality between the two?
Assuming you were filming the same well lit scene.
Any comments would be appreciated
    Edit:
Found a partial answer to my question here Cannon GL2,but if someone would be kind enough to elaborate

Yes, I do have a GL-2 and I really like it. The 3CCDs give you superior color smoothness and depth. The optics on the GL-2 are really great too. I'm sure you'd be happy with an GL/XM-2 if you were to get one, but it'd be wise to look into other camcorders. The Panasonic AG-DVX100 is popular for its true progressive capabilities, and is worth looking into.

I can try to answer any specific questions you guys might have.

    Thanks for the response people.
Yeah so we have all figured out the XM2 is the PAL version of GL2. So, can anyone give me a review of quality and overall performance?
I can get one for aprox. $5000 NZ ($2886 US)
    Any help is apreciated

    Thanks!
    Kane.
