Everyone’s favorite rebel with shades of gray. We’re sure to get plenty of spy action, and seemingly a lot of his backstory during the Clone Wars.

"We don’t all have the luxury of deciding when and where we want to care about something. Suddenly the Rebellion is real for you? Some of us live it. I’ve been in this fight since I was six years old. You’re not the only one who lost everything."

This one of my favorite lines from RO. Can't wait to see how this plays out in his story.

He's oozing edgy spy dynamics in the latest trailer.

Is a great line, and demonstrates how for most people the Empire and Rebellion wasn't about daring missions with jokes aplenty but was actually a gritty, cruel, and dangerous time full of loss.

I don't know much about filming and set reports etc, do we have any information on how much they're going to focus on Cassian as a kid during the Clone Wars?

Trailers all seem to focus on the main storyline of Cassian/ Mon Mothma so I'm just wondering how much they'll actually delve into his formative years?

Hope that more time than in Din Djarin's case.

Wild theory - in the first trailer there was a fallen starship, in the second a boy sneaks into what seems to be a
communication room. My guess is that this boy is young Cassian, he infiltrated this starship, accidentally caused sending of distress call and after that the war came on his home planet.

Meh, to be fair I don't think Djarin's childhood is as interesting as Cassian's. We saw the most important moment, where he's rescued by the Mandalorians. After that I imagine his childhood was a Rocky montage of training, brainwashing, and more training. Not much there in any case.

I think you're right RE: boy in fallen starship. Seems like the type of scene they'd do and focus on Cassian.

Honestly though it's a bit irritating how the main/ recurring characters always are the ones who end up being involved in massive moments right from childhood. It's enough that Cassian just grew up in a Clone Wars-ravaged homeland and grew up mean and with a specific skillset because of it. Having it so he's the one who brought the Clone Wars to the planet accidentally just for that added tragedy on his backstory just suspends the realism even further.

Yes, I'm aware it's ridiculous to expect any type of realism from Star Wars but still.

Well, there is also a chance that he just witnessed how the last survived member of the crew sent the message.
Hope that Cassian's people did not fight alone and separatists sent instructors to help them, in parallel to TCW Onderon arc (also a common topic for Andor and Saw to discuss).

I think Diego has what it takes to make something great, out of the big four leading men from Disney Star Wars, Boyega, Driver, Ehrenreich, he's definitely in the same class and can easily hold his own. I don't expect him to quite be having fun in this one as it's looking kinda grimmdark, but hope it happens at least a couple times.

That young boy (Cassian) is the one we saw looking at his planet being strip mined. I'm pretty sure that's the reason he grows up hating them.

The moment with mines from the trailer seems strange to me because there were no one in them, no workers, no droids, no security. Another wild theory - mines were abandoned long time ago by some corporation and the whole planet was forgotten, but rediscovered by the Republic after the fall of ship, and it started mining again.

Maybe some sort of "rebellious" act causes the mines to be evacuated and young Cassian witnesses this and is inspired by it.

Well, droid revolution can be an interesting variant, especially if memory about it was preserved by Cassian's community, and so they viewed droids as liberators.

So little Kassa is quite a fireball. I didn't expect him to actually speak space!Spanish to explain his accent, but it's a nice touch, especially in a franchise with many nonsensical accent choices.

The scene where they dropped the Phil Collins drum break. I can feel it coming in the air just looking at this picture. Oh Lord.

It's interesting, the more we see Cassian at this time the more I realize how similar he is to Jyn when they eventually meet. Maybe it's due to both of them being adopted by rebels at young ages, though Jyn's disallusionment happened after spending a ton of time with organized rebels while Cassian's the opposite.

I think by now its confirmed Cassian Andor by this show is 30 and Rogue One 35. he is a teenager by end of the Clone Wars. So he gets thrown in prison soon after the war.

That is actually one of the things I DON'T like about this show. His speech in Rogue One about choosing when and where to care rings hollow now. He seems to have come to the Rebellion in pretty much the same way. That said, it make for a more satisfying character arc than the "idealistic hero becomes morally compromised" story I though we were going to get, so maybe worth the trade off.

A girl in every port for Cassian. A true space pirate. If the Death Star hadn’t have killed him then the space syphilis surely would have.

I thought originally the series would be James Bond in a GFFA but it and the character of Cassian Andor is far more than that...
