Nash, TN Celebration 4 - Worst Location Ever!

Well, LFL has finally picked a location for C4 (C4 - It's going to be a blast!) and they picked a spot nearby to the ranch in sunny Los Angelos. Forget the rest of you located on the East Coast, and Middle America, we want to stay close to Hollywood. An extra good piece of news, GenCon is in charge again. Prepare for long lines at the convention center (located only 4 blocks away from any hotels) nicely tucked in a part of town that will offer many visitors the chance to witness an actual drive-by shooting. Betting SW fans will be a tempting target to bored gang members. Don't forget the high price of everything in L.A., too.

Is anyone planning on going?

 

I'm going, but I'm not pleased with the location either. I'm from So Cal (moved out here five years ago), and would MUCH prefer C4 to be in Indy again. You make excellent points about the LA Convention Center, it is in a horrible location and isn't close to anything you'd feel safe walking to. Basic rule of thumb is anything south of the 10 (I-10) is ghetto, and to be avoided at all costs. The convention center is north of the 10, but just barely. The hotel situation around there stinks, and traffic is absolutely horrible.

If anyone else is going and has questions about LA in general, feel free to hit me up.

 

i would have to say i am happy...this gives me a free place to stay. i may actually consider attending this one. also, having attended e3 more than once i have a familiarity with the area somewhat. not a complete loss in my book.

 

You've been to E3?? I'm jealous! I just watch the E3 coverage on G4 and drool.

Just realized to any outsiders reading this they may have no idea what I'm talking about - C4, E3, G4, What the Frak?

I'll probably go. It'll be my first trip to California. I don't plan on driving... probably flying, and taking a cab from the airport to the hotel and back.

And yes, I'll be armed.

 

I have no intentions of going to C4, it's far too expensive. (C4, run by GenCon, Memorial Day weekend, etc.) Not to mention that about a month ago I was on vacation in LA. Sorry, no go this year.

 

I won't be attending either. I went to C2 & C3 and had a great time at both. The main reason I went to C3 was because of the location. Only 5 hours of driving. Flying and heading to L.A. doesn't appeal to me in the slightest. There also isn't the movie hype with this one, so there won't be the buzz and excitement that there was with the others. That's not to say that it won't be fun of course. Perhaps there will be some buzz about the T.V. shows & the 3-D theatrical release of the original trilogy, but that can't be as much as there was for the prequels.

 

I'll bring you back an action figure... for a small fee.

 

I mean next year, sry.

I think I'll choose life instead of running the streets of downtown LA. They could not have picked a crappier place IMHO.
