ST Celebrations at the end of ROTJ relating to TFA

A lot of Star Wars fans assume that the galaxy as a whole was happy that the emperor was dead and the second Death Star Destroyed, but in actuality those scenes are just depicting a bunch of Life Day parties. The one on Coruscant got a bit out of hand.

This accounts for the the Jedi/Rebellion/etc being at the legend status that Han refers to in the trailer. Few people actually knew about the second Death Star, after all it was being built next to a moon whose native denizens are aboriginal teddy bears. The First Order quelled stories about the Jedi by simply making everyone chant "We've always been at war with East Asia," and making sure that every planet conducted its two minutes of hate every morning towards Jar Jar, Greedo shooting first, and Boba Fett's vocal chord surgery.
