[Charlie Sheen] Why does he always play characters named Charlie?

To make up for the fact that he was in a film where he shot and killed a lot of guys named "Charlie".

So he could get used to the name, "Charlie" rather than his birth name, "Carlos".

 

This reminds me of one of my favourite Warren Zevon lyrics (from "Genius");

a. charlie sheen killed all his brain cells through his drug abuse that he can no longer remember character names

or

b. charlie sheen is so in love with himself he needs to have his name constantly repeated to stroke his own ego.


and all dogs go to heaven II does not count, as it was a cheap direct-to-dvd sequel. burt reynolds was the voice of charlie in the first one.

 

Smokey and the Bandit 3 doesn't count either.

Wasn't there a commercial back in the day for Spin City where they tried to give his character a different name, but he kept forgetting to respond to it, so they just named him Charlie instead?
