Being a teenager of the age of 17, I've recently noticed darkening of the hairs which reside upon my chest. Being 9/10th os the way through puberty, this new addition to my burly front has caused some questions to arise. Do the ladies like chest hair? Is this something I should wear with pride? Or try to hide? How long is the average chest hair? Is having the superman 'V' or an all-over spattering preferred? What do you think?

Luckily I don't have many, and those that I do have are pretty short and light colored. For some reaason, my chest doesn't seem to want to grow them. It's fine with me, though.

Thought I'd something more to say...

Are you kidding? My chest looks like a cross between Magnum PI, Scott Hall and Chewbacca! Wear your hair with pride!

Hairy chest = not a freakin' sissy boy!

As long as you don't wear button up shirts 1/4 of the way unbuttoned with the hair shooting out, you'll be ok.

I'm pretty hair free. I shave my face two times a week. Three if something important comes up. I wax my eyebrows and buzz my legs. In the summer i shave my legs. So if i were to have shoulder or back hair i imagin i would get rid of it.

    Hairy shoulders and hairy backs.......

As a guy, I think its embarassing to have either. If you have it naturally, and its ok with you, then good for you. I personally would find it embarrasing.

And now, on to my rant.....

I think that way too much is being made of men's grooming these days. I'm not saying men should all look like Phil Robertson, but hey, I don't think its natural for men to look like Ryan Seacrest, either. This metrosexual thing is getting way out of hand.

The 80's are over! We shouldn't have to looke like Boy George or George Michael for women to find us attractive!

    Who's with me?!?!?!?!?!

Ew hairy shoulders *shudder*, that is definitely gross. As for hairy chests, it all depends on how the dude looks with it, some hairy guys are sexy, some look better once they shaved it.

I don't mind the hair on the back at all -- I don't have much; from a distance it's hardly noticable. It doesn't embarrass me.

The question is: will it repel the women?

^^^ I wasn't referring to you, Neo. I was just referring to the trend in particular. If that's your style, it's your style. And that's fine. I just don't think that suddenly men with body hair/facial hair should suddenly be pariahs.

I think some guy's have it instilled in them in childhood that men shouldn't or can't do some things just because a girl does. It's a shame.

well scare in a meaning of odd. He was wearing shorts with one of his legs on the counter in the bathroom when I walked by all covered in shaving cream. Later in the living room, he'd be checking for nicks and cuts around each leg.

Edit It's not a shame Neo, just very odd when you see it being done.

I don't shave alot just becuase i'm to lazy. I shaved my legs for track once just becuase i wanted to try it and it wasn't anything special.

I get my uni-brow waxed by my girl-friend for free and thats about it. If she wants me to shave my legs or chest or back i will. It doesn't bother me at all.

Welcome to a small scale of what women have to put up with. Enjoy the ride. ;)

Mmmmm...he was always my favorite bond in just shorts. [face_mischief]
Then again, he was pretty tall and in great shape when he was younger, too, so that also helped. ;)

If I had some some hair on my chest, I would show it constanly.

I would be that guy with the first five butons on his shirt unbuttoned and the gold madelion and making all the women swoom and the men jealous ala David Hasselhoff.
