Cleavage: The Game

YouTube has ads. I watch many YouTube videos. The ads are in a very prominent place, so they are easy to notice.


Lately many of the ads have been for a game of some sort called Evony. If you click the link, you'll know why I chose the thread title... well, that and I wanted to get people to pay attention to me ( ). The ads consist of women in various states of undress and with very prominent... assets. This is nothing new for videogames, but two things stood out for me (no, two other things). There are little-to-no non-cleavage ads, which is usually reserved for games devoted to oogling pixelated boobies. Also, the game title is barely visible; I didn't know what the **** it was advertising until I clicked the link. (What? I was curious!)

And why do guys still fall for the "CLEAVAGE CLEAVAGE CLEAVAGE SEX SEX SEX HOT GIRLS" crap? You'd think that internet nerds would be rather desensitized to it by now. Never mind that games that resort to this sort of advertising usually suck-- unless they're Japanese games. The Japanese would put a giganto-breasted, thong-wearing heroine in the Old Testament and get rave reviews.

Evony was called Civony. It's an online Civilisation / Age of Empires clone, and it's reported to be crap. They have ripped graphical assets directly out of other games too.

I've been meaning to talk about this, but given my reputation, I thought better of it.

The first ads for that game showed a sad-looking princess-type who looked like she was about to be run through with a sword, but then they went all BOOBIES BOOBIES BOOBIES.

 

The game most not be that good.

 

Is this not the greatest ad ever for an online Civ-AoE clone?;

But they have already called me as their lord. I just can't ignore that.

 

Now that you mention it, the lady from the "Start Your Journey Now, My Lord" version of the Evony ads looks like she was taken from a site featuring mature, older women, if you know what I mean.
