I can't decide who is better and I need help. So far here's what I came up with: Clones ------------------ +cool armor +large numbers +larger guns +GREAT video game(Republic Commando) +had more Jedi on their side -became evil after Order 66 Rebels ------------------- +better movies(still like 1-3 though) +destroyed 2 death stars +Han Solo, Chewbacca, Luke, etc. +victorious against he empire(unless ep.7 changes that) -smaller So what do you guys think?
When it comes down to it, the republic probably had the better army. But at the some time the rebels have proven to be quite a fierce bunch despite not being as large of a army.
I prefer the Rebel Alliance. They were fighting bigger odds and therefore their success is more powerful/meaningful. They had little training and still managed to blow up two Death Stars. They had Han, Chewie, and Leia. The only thing about the clone army that I like are Rex and the Lego Star Wars III game.
Eh, I think I'll just go with rebels. I still like the clone army, but the rebels are the ultimate underdogs and unlike clones there's no evil mastermind pulling the strings. Plus there's Han Solo. Nuff said.
Its kind of hard to compare the two. They have vastly different styles of engaging in battle. I can't say much about the Rebel Alliance in new canon material, but from the movies themselves they seemed to rely more on piloting and hit and fade engagements throughout the OT. The Clones themselves were a little bit more versatile, but mainly seemed to be used as a large ground force. I like both. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Tapatalk
One thing for sure - not that I'm being cynical BUT CASUALTIES ON BOTH SIDES ... AND also traitors, tears, hear-break, heroes/cowards/traitors again, games of cross and double cross ...
Clones look cooler but Rebels had more heart and will. They went from being the small underdogs to toppling the most powerful regime. Pretty much a rerun of the American Revolution but with lasers and spaceships (before you stab me, yes I'm joking!). I don't think it's easy for me to decide between the two though... on one hand, well, again, clones look cooler, then again they did go evil, but they couldn't help it, but were still very susceptible, while the Rebels were truly freedom fighters with their own mindset and thoughts. I dunno mane.
It's really hard to compare the clone army and the rebels, because they are so different. I can't decide right now.
Although I believe the Clone Army was the more efficient and better trained army simply because of their genetics and their training, I feel the Rebel's are the more favourable army. They have individuality (I know the CW show was all about that, but they do have programming deep down) and they have more heart. They honestly believe in what they're fighting for, and it's not just because it's their "job" or how they are predetermined by birth, but because the galaxy and their lives personally depend on it. They also have smaller numbers and are against greater odds, so they also hold bravery. Not bravery just because that's the genetics, once again. They also weren't lead by Jedi's, they were just men and women who trained with very little resources and had a very small amount of experience, yet they made it work and took down not a Separatist movement, but an entire Galactic Empire.
Same here. Although rebel air/space forces are pretty cool, I find their ground troops to be very boring.
I like the Clones better. The Clone Wars gave the clones a personality (I know some people here don't like that though) and made me care about them so that Order 66 was made a bit more tragic. The rebels in the original trilogy weren't that interesting except for the main ones. Granted, the show Rebels will probably change that but for now I prefer Clones, both military and character wise.
