What do the different colors of clones troopers in the clone wars/ep.III mean?

    Different colours mean different squads.
For example, green might mean that they belong to the infantry.
I don't tknow the specific meanings though.

The colors mark what was the trooper's rank (before they changed the armors)
    with no color-private
    blue-lt.
    green-sergeant
    red-captain
    yellow-commander
Then they mark from which army group was the trooper.
Obi-Wan's troopers are yellow that's the color of the 3rd army.

I thought it was what "legion" they were in, at least in RotS. For example, the 501st wore Blue, the Galactic Marines wore slightly different armor, the shock troopers on Coruscant wore red, etc. You could probably check out the Clone Commanders thread in the Literature board for more answers.

The earlier clones with colors were rank indicators. The ones later in the wars was a combination of rank indication and division/battailon color etc..
