I am a huge fan of the board game Clue. The classic game where you figure out who killed Mr. Boddy. Was it Mr. Green in the Kitchen with the Knife? Was it Miss Scarlet in the Study with the Lead Pipe? Or was it Professor Plum in the Library with the Revolver?

If you've played the game you know it could be anybody.

Clue was turned in a great film in 1985 starring Tim Curry and a cast of fantastoc comedic actors. It's one of the all time funniest films and an overlooked classic.

In 1992 Clue was spun-off into a series of young adult books begining with Who Killed Mr. Boddy. The series would last for 5 years and 18 books.

Here's a list of all the books.

    1. Who Killed Mr. Boddy?
    2. The Secret Secret Passage
    3. The Case of the Invisible Cat
    4. Mystery At The Masked Ball
    5. Midnight Phone Calls
    6. Booby-Trapped!
    7. The Picture Perfect Crime
    8. The Clue In The Shadows
    9. Mystery In The Moonlight
    10. The Screming Skeleton
    11. Death By Candlelight
    12. The Haunted Gargoyle
    13. Revenge of the Mummy
    14. The Dabgerous Diamond
    15. The Vanishing Vampire
    16. Danger After Dark
    17. The Clue in the Crystal Ball
    18. Footprints in the Fog

As far as I know that all the books that were written.

Each book has ten mini-mysteries that only take 5 or 6 minutes to read. The your asked to solve the mystery. The books are a hoot and feature a great deal of comedy. The most amusing ongoing joke is that Mr. Boddy is killed at the end of each book yet he makes a miricalous recovery and is in the next book. He also doesn't hold any grudges with the one who "murders" him.

I for one would love to see a sitcom based on Clue using the books for story material. The sitcom would be a very witty show full of farce like Fraiser. I even think that David Hyde Pierce who plas Niles, Frasier's brother would be excellent as Professor Plum.

Each books feature 10 stories and there are 18 books in all so that 180 storys that could be adapted. If one was to make an episode off of each story that's 180 episodes. 7 season's worth of shows.

Who else thinks a Clue sitcom would be an excellent idea?

Please also discuss the film and the game itself.

Yep. I have all the books except the first one. Here's an incredible Clue website I came across last night it has everything you would possibly want to know about Clue.

    Check it out here.

I loved those book series! I have about 5 of them. I never realized they made so many though!

Awsome, I'll have to get to the library :)

The clue movie was great too. And I always win whenever my family plays the board game :D

    Hey Gobi-1,

That's my website you're referencing. Thanks for the nice words.

There is a new Clue series out (Clue Mysteries and More Clue Mysteries) which has a bit of a different take. I actually gave it pretty bad reviews on my website until Vicki Cameron (the author) emailed me about it! She wasn't happy, so I toned down my review a bit. But I think they are worth checking out as well.

Clue is my passion. Thanks for the website plug.

I've been making James Bond fan art posters when it dawned on me that I could make one for the Clue sequel I've been longing for. So here it is.

Our school did a Clue musical. Me being full of school spirit and enthusiasm towards the school drama club didn't go.

BTW, i agree with the Whose Line is it Anyway portion of Gobi-1's profile, that show is awesome.

"One plus two plus two plus one."

I absolutely adored the movie. I thought it was showcasing the comedic genius of many, many people -- the least of which were Tim Curry and the late, lamented Madeleine Kahn.

"Let us in; let us in!!!"
"Let us out; let us out!!!"

WHo would you cast in a possible sequel? I've already picked 6 actors for my posters but another idea I had was to have the cast of Frasier fill all the roles.

Mr. Green - Kelsey Grammer (Dr. Frasier Crane)
Professor Plum - Davide Hyde Pierce (Dr. Niles Crane)
Colonel Mustard - John Mahoney (Martin Crane)
Miss Scarlet - Peri Gilpin (Roz Doyle)
Miss White - Jane Leeves (Daphne Moon Crane)
Miss Peacock - Bebe Neuwirth (Dr. Lilith Sternin)
Mr. Boddy - Edward Hibbert (Gil Chesterton)

The rest of the Frasier cast Bulldog, Kenny and so on could be the murder victims.

FYI, it's Reverend Green in the Australian version.

There was a Clue (or, as we call it down under, "Cluedo") tv series in Australia. Every week a different character was introduced into the household and, naturally, killed off :p The whole thing was very much like a game show where a studio audience has to work out who the killer is. The person who locks in the correct answer first and stays with it wins the prize. Loved the show as a kid and it was great fun to watch at home.

I loved the Clue movie. Tim Currey's different summations were hilarious. I think Michael McKean as Mister Green made me laugh the most.

If I remember correctly the film came out in the theater with the 3 different endings but not all of them. So you could have seen a different ending depending on where you saw it. It wasn't until video that they put all of them together.

Yes I know he's Reverend Green in some versions but I'm going with the american version.

Yes it's correct that their were three different versions of the film one with each of the endings. When it came out on video you could see all three.

Gobi your fan art for Clue II was great.

Mrs. White was a great selection as was Mrs. Peacock, Col. Mustard and Mr.Green.
