coleman trebor...what a fool!

what was coleman trebore thinking when he galently jumped onto dooku's balcony?
if he could'nt deflect 5 laser blasts how did he expect to take on a sith lord!!!!????
please someone tell me the motive to his suicide attack!

 

He thought he could take both Jango and Dooku. Obviously, he was wrong.

This is uncanny. I watched "Full Metal Jacket" just today! and there is a line just like that (when Sgt. Hartman informs Pyle that Joker is the new leader).

I love this scene, I never liked his character and I guess thats why I always post in threads concerning his rather pedestrian demise at the hands of a bounty hunter.

I do wish he was sliced by Dooku, I really do....

 

I'm not saying this cause there's a thread on him. I truly like trebor. He's on my top 5 favorite jedi list.

It's a shame that we did not see his guts. Oh well, we have the Taun Taun in ESB, that should suffice.

He didn't know Dooku was a Sith Lord. Why do people keep making this mistake? WE know he's a Sith Lord, the characters DON'T.

He probably figured me = jedi council jedi master, and dooku = rogue jedi with lackey... ROXOR...

unfortunately he roxored nobody because he underestimated the lackey's Laser Desert Eagles...

 

Even Obi-Wan pursued Dooku to the hanger with the idea of "aggressive negotiations". I wouldn't call his actions as foolish or reckless.

 

I don't think he saw Jango up there, which is why he was caught off-guard and couldn't deflect those blasts quick enough.

 

Didn't Yoda say something about some of the Jedi becoming arrogant and foolish? Even some of the older and more experienced ones?

Coleman thought a mere bounty hunter was no threat, perhaps?

 

All I know is if you're gonna jump right in and try to take out Count Dooku with Jango Fett standing right there , you'd better at least have your lightsaber ignited ahead of time. Had he had his weapon already drawn, he might have had a shot at catching Dooku off guard. Of course, Jango would've still smoked him cowboy-style, though...

 

Perhaps he just had a bad day.

 

Coleman Trebor was focused on Dooku. He wasn't even thinking about Jango Fett and he paid a great price for it.

 

I'll repost something i did from 2 years ago that might explain it.

Geonosis Arena:

Coleman Trebor: All these droids are scared to fight me.

Aayla Secura: (fighting intensly) Probably cause you look like a dinosaur.

Coleman: Hey look, there's my old master Count Dooku. He taught me everything I know. I'm gonna jump up there and show him I still have the lightsaber he gave me. I bet he misses me.

Aayla: Be careful, Fett is up there.

Coleman: I'm sure Dooku has told him all about me and that we go way back.

 

That's hilarious!

 

He may be foolhardy, but at least he gets a cool death sequence.

 

Sure Coleman was brave but bravery often goes hand in hand w/stupidity. Devilanse pointed it out, the Jedi are arrogant and to sure of themselves. He probably thought "Hey I'm a Jedi. I can take out everyone on on the dias. It' doesn't matter that I'm outnumbered! I'm a Jedi!!"
