When You Watch a Star Wars Movie on TV, Are the Comercial Breaks always in the Same Location? Does Lucasfilm have Any Choices where and when to interupt for Comercials? Where have You Noticed Breaks when you watch them... Are any of the Breaks at Really Jarring Innapropriate moments? Where do you think they will put the Comercials for AOTC?

I don't watch them in TV... the german synch is terrible (in all parts) and wrong (in some parts) so I only watch them on DVD (VHS) ;)

I don't watch them on TV anymore either... But when I was a Kid I had my Empire Strikes Back Video that I recorded off Commercial Television.

I saw Part of TPM on Fox before Episode II was Released.... If I hadn't watched it, I would have never Known what TPM Looked Like Pan and Scan... I cannot believe some people actually prefer that butchery...

I don't watch them on TV either. It seems silly when I have the widescreen version on tape or DVD.

But in answer to you orginal question, my understanding is that it isn't the networks that decide where the commercial breaks go.
I don't know who does it. I wouldn't think that Burt would be in the back of Skywalker sound putting them in. Maybe thats someone's actual job ?[face_plain]

I never watch them on TV only becuase it isn't OAR. If it were, then I probably would tape it on the best quality on a good VCR in case my tapes are damaged.

OAR = Original Aspect Ratio, which in this case is 2.35:1, anamorphic widescreen.

Has anyone noticed anything Eddited for time from the TV Versions of the Movie? I could be Mistaken.... Or I Could have poorly trimmed the comercials when I was younger... But I believe my Version of Empire, which I mentioned Above, Did not have the scene of Boba Fett inside the Cockpit of Slave 1. It showed him disengaging from the garbage and chasing Han... But not the Shot from inside the Cockpit. That is the only thing I think I have ever noticed....

sorry... the only things I remember are the horrible synch-dialogs... where the Kessel Run suddenly is the Korsal Flug(=Run)... or a Nerf Herder is a Wookiee Treiber(=Herder)... :_|

with such painfull things the last thing you're watching at is the cut and the comercial breaks [face_plain]

I would assume German, since, in an earlier post, she said: "the german synch is terrible".

I have watched the SW flicks on TV when there is nothing else on, but I hate it because its not Letterbox/Widescreen. I also hate the fact that they didnt release EP2 on VHS in Widescreen, so I have to watch mine in Pan And Crap Scan because I dont have DVD player yet because the prices were too high for my tastes, but now they are comming down so I should be able to get a high quality DVD player for 250 bucks now. Im top of the line and want all the exrtas when I get one. So, then i'll be able to watch all my DVD's that I already have. Still, to this day I will NEVER understand people who actually LIKE Pan and Scan.....its like wanting rotten milk instead of fresh. Stupid. If everyone stopped buying Pan and Scan they would stop making it and they wouldnt have to spend all that extra money croping each frame and picture and then releasing it seperate, they would just have ONE version, Letterbox/Widescreen....done and over with. People are so stupid.

    "Was that in Swedish?"

well, as someone already pointed out, it was in German, but I also want to point out that in Sweden, they only dub children-movies, and never "real" movies (thank god!!!);)

I had an old taping of Return of the Jedi off CBS or some channel, and I was surprised when I bought the official video that there was a scene of Leia and Wicket on Endor being attacked by Biker Scouts...it was cut off the tv version.
