Not a whole lot of info right now. Features GDI/Nod like the originals plus a new race, and should be released in 2007 by EA.

OMG finally no more Red Alert, no more Generals. Finally getting back to the roots. As long as Nod have the Cyborg commander then I'll be happy ;)

And of course a non linear campaign :)

Tiberiun Sun was the second one.

You'r right, my bad, it's been like 5 years! I've always wanted to check out Generals, but my PC blows and I am too lazy to upgrade it, prefer to play PS2 on my couch since I am infront of a computer all day at work. I still wish I had my first copy of the original C&C on the PS1!

    Where's the info for this?

And I assume the new race are the Scrin aliens from TS...

Well they've certainly waited long enough, TS came out in 1999 so hopefully they do this right

So we've got C&C back, any news on StarCraft 2?:p

I stopped playing the C&C line after Red Alert, I wasn't a fan of Tiberium Sun and nothing could compare to the original Command & Conquer. I do hope this game lives up to the original with GDI/Nod.

I thought the next game that EA were making is RA 3.

    Check here

Looks like they changed their minds. Personally, I think it's because the majority of the C&C community seems to prefer Tiberian Sun over RA2 and after the fiascos of Generals and breaking up Westwood, EA is trying to win back some of their core constituency.

And it seems like they know how to do it, too, announcing that Kane, FMVs, and the familiar C&C interface, resource mining, and tech trees are back.

    I'm mixed on this game.
    1) it's at least getting back into the TRUE C&C storyline. WTH were they thinking when they made Generals? Sure, it was a good MP game (well, until EA stopped patching it that is) but the SP was a complete waste of time and had NOTHING to do with C&C.
    2) It's still being made by EALA and I have zero confidence in their ability to make a good RTS. The LOTR games were ok but ONLY because they were LOTR. If they had done the same thing with any other storyline it would have been a dismal failure, IMO.

Unfortunately I think that this new C&C is most likely going to be a flop. EALA just doesn't give C&C the kind of good development that it deserves. I miss WW. :(

Hmm, has EALA made anything else that was decent? I hear Generals was pretty good gameplay-wise, so maybe they can pull this one off?

I'm optimistic about this. The original C&C represents such an immense nostalgia trip for me, back to my high-school days, where it was one of the first games I really seriously got into. I was never hugely good at it (nor any strategy games - I like them but I suck at them :p), but I love the thought that we'll be going back to GDI vs NOD (at the start, at least) and see the world choked by Tiberium once more. Ah, the memories...
